Trump's first big failure

black 2017-03-07 22:55:45

is going to be health care.

Republicans in Congress are scared to death at the pushback they are getting from their districts, regarding the repeal of Obamacare. They are now faced with two choices, repeal it and face the music or tinker around the edges and leave it mostly, intact. It's safe to say, they will choose the latter.

Lots of fighting within Republican ranks alone, mush less Democrats.

This thing is dead

I heard Howard Dean say something very interesting, he said, "the Republicans pushing for a total repeal of Obamacare, are the ones willing to keep it".

In other words, total repeal is and excuse to keep Obamacare in place.

They didn't expect the push back from their own base on this one.

A lot of these rednecks are saying loud and proud "we voted for Trump, but we're not willing to die for him". lol

Very true. Red States are the most dependent on Obamacare.

One thing the Republicans know how to do is how to win elections Bro.

They found out very fcuking fast that while most voters in their base didn't know, or didn't remember, who gave them their benefits under the ACA they sure as shyte would know, and remember, who took them away.

And we saw from those recent town halls that most of the rednecks love their Obamacare and would vote out people like Paul Ryan in a heartbeat if he was responsible to taking away their benefits.

Say it ain't so. Repeal and Replace the disastrous law from day 1.

No hurry....I'll wait.

TRUMP, the ultimate negotiator, could not get his party to agree on R & R despite owning the White House , The Senate and the House of Representatives.

"The Democrats did not give us a single vote; we had no Democrat support", said Trump.
They did not need the Democrats to pass this bill.

This is rich coming from the serial liar (who said that he never promised to repeal and replace in the first sixty-four days) and the Repuglicans, considering Obama did not get a single vote from them seven years ago.

One would think that this would be as easy as 1, 2, 3 especially given seven years to come up with and hone a plan to put into effect from day one.

What does that tell us about the Repugnants?? Two things:

1. Trump is NOT the great negotiator he claims to be.
2. The Republicans are not the great lawmakers and governing body they think they are,

They need to stop using the term "The American People" because this plan as it stood, and thankfully did not pass would have put a bigger financial burden on those who could less afford it.

Republicans focused on repeal, in the early days of Obamacare, which probably would have worked before millions started enrolling. They never counted on the fact that the law would become so entrenched in the system, making it almost impossible to replace.

They benefitted greatly by talking down Obamacare, totally ignoring the people that benefitted from it. The irony of this whole situation is, the people that are most dependent on Obamacare, are in red States and Republicans got an earful from them.

dayne 2017-03-25 07:41:12

Well the rednecks hate Obama, but they love his Care

You have a point. Do you remember how people would say negative things about Obamacare and good things about the ACA, not realizing that it is the same thing?

Dukes 2017-03-25 11:09:10

Many people are focusing on the Freedom Caucus as the ones who blew up this bill but my Congressman who comes from the Romney wing of the Republican party also would have voted no. This guy is 5th generation power broker. He is the great great grandson of of some blue blood in Jersey. He is Chairman of one of the most powerful committees in the House and initially voted this bill out of the Committee. However despite there being many seemingly rich people in this area he was being consistently bombarded by protesting constituents and finally relented and said he was going to vote no to this bill. I strongly suspect that if this bill had come to a vote, there would have been at least 60 Republicans voting against it. Only 17 % of the American people support this bill.

When an Idiot surrounds himself with idiots there is absolutely no hope for success .

The stark truth is that Trump does
not read credible News , he prefers
to read the National Enquirer & look
at FAUX NOISE , aka Fox News.

His attention span is exceedingly poor , He does not know how the
Senate & the House of Representatives work .

He is totally indebted to the Russians for becoming the President of the USA . As a result
he wants to dismantle NATO , and
allow the Russians to gobble them up one by one .

Unlike Obama, he was not interested in the process, he was willing to accept anything Ryan sent to him.
