Price of Tickets for 1 Day Match in Bim Tomorrow

Headley 2017-03-08 09:12:35

Are there sensible West Indians who will pay USD 75.00 and more to watch these jokers and pokers play 1 day cricket?

Chris Rock tickets cost far more and he performs for an hour. We get to watch our jokers for the whole day.

Sounds like quite a deal.

With the Bajans and friends scheduled to perform, that $75 price tag should be no hindrance to the filling up of the ground by hometown fans.

From Monday the people was selling tickets at BDS$75.00, the people 65 years and older got tickets free, (which is the norm in Barbados), if yuh want to go, yuh buy de ticket, simple......man wunna too like to mek much ado about nutten..........

Headley 2017-03-08 09:32:47

In reply to nick2020

Yuh have a point. I stand corrected. Some men may be willing to pay BDS 75.00 for a mere 5 minute performance.

Thank yuh for the information. Next time I will enquire earlier. Plus, every day I am one day closer to the seniors discount. big grin

Headley 2017-03-08 09:41:49

For USD 75.00 I could get season tickets to watch world class athletes perform Mar 28 to Apr 4 at Champs. I might even get 2 patty and some ital soup and a red stripe. big grin

Bajans will pay anything to watch the Englishmen perform. This price tag has nothing to do with the WI jokers...

that's the same thing Grave was talking about the price of tickets, and the times of matches
makes no sense
it seems like the guys who were responsible for this never really cared about locals attending the game.

matchstick 2017-03-08 11:47:18

That price is insane for the Caribbean. I live in NY and wont pay that to go watch any international cricket team play here. (maybe i am just cheap)

camos 2017-03-08 11:51:15

In reply to Headley
the payers are English people, ALL the locals get free tickets!

mikesiva 2017-03-08 12:10:16

I bet you the tickets for the 50 overs matches between Pakistan and the west indies in Guyana next month will be significantly cheaper.
cool

imusic 2017-03-08 13:05:46

Not sure what all the fuss is about. If the market will bear the cost of a US$75 ticket, then so be it.

Either pay to go or not. Tomorrow's attendance will illustrate whether the ticket cost was justified or not. Just like everywhere else.

Allyuh jes want to chat yes.

Not really ... the state of the series is a major determinant regarding attendance. With your team two matches down in a 3-matches series fans wouldn't be jumping the lines to get the best seats.....

Maybe. Maybe not.

Tomorrow's attendance will provide the answer

the core supporters would have made a decision long ago to attend the game and it would not be based on the current balance of the series! No doubt a tightly contested series would generate more interest.

So what's the answer?
big grin
It looks like an England home match.

jen 2017-03-09 09:27:06

That's because half of the stand will be bought by english fans, it simple mathematics and brilliance.

7,000 english men at US$75 = $525,000

If you sell 15,000 fans at US$20 = $300,000

Go figure son.

camos 2017-03-09 09:28:53

In reply to jen

so what about the idea of home advantage?

jen 2017-03-09 09:32:24

at the expense of US$225k? lol, ask yoself that question again if you was in that position.

Lots of empty seats. Yesterday they should have slashed prices to about US $20. If they really cared about local fans.

Priapus 2017-03-09 12:24:37

In reply to mikesiva
You mean not even the bajans of a certain hue bothered to turn up to support their "home" team?

mikesiva 2017-03-09 12:27:52

In reply to Priapus

To be fair would you pay US $75 to watch your team play this crap that we just watched?

For US $20 maybe but not for US $75.

mikesiva 2017-03-24 14:40:30

The T20 between Pakistan and West Indies starts at US$20 in Barbados....

The ODIs in Guyana are priced between US$10 and US$20.

Now, that's value for money...not like the England games, which sought to price locals out of the matches.
