Boatswain double sinks Bajans 2-0
JOEL BAILEY Saturday, March 11 2017

JAMILLE BOATSWAIN scored a double, on his international debut, while Dennis Lawrence marked his entry as coach for Trinidad and Tobago as the hosts whipped Barbados 2-0 last evening, in a friendly football encounter, at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

The game was Lawrence’s lone international test before the back-to-back FIFA World Cup qualifiers at home to Panama and Mexico, on March 24 and 28 respectively.

But it was the performance of Boatswain that impressed the most, in front of a crowd estimated at 2,500.

Wasn't bad because Lawrence was trying to find players that will or could be used for the Qualifiers, wasn't it a home based team,it's always a difficult job,but well done.I feel we could get a couple players in the final squad for the Qualifiers,Boatswain and Hodge looks good.

No disrespect, but looking good against Barbados means nothing at all when you're going to be playing Panama and Mexico in a 4 day span in the Hex.

Especially when neither have previously played football at any kind of high level (beyond domestic club football)
