Congrats Keacy Carty!

Nice knock! Classy youth who is playing with a maturity beyond his years!

Bat on!

Rumors of the Revo's demise have been exaggerated.

Barbados takes the extra 15 minutes of Lunch to try to finish the game.

Needs to work on his on-side game but he is only 19 and has some time still. Could have gotten that hundred long time. Great effort by my youth from SXM.

They messed with the youth by pushing him to open early in his career and of course once he failed he was discarded. He should be batting at 4/5.

Carty batted well. Yeah he's definitely stronger and more confident playing to the offside, but i won't be too quick to make any assessment. Roach and Co. were hustling everyone who came to the crease. That's a good example of what every wicket in the caribbean should look like. The wicket started to keep low by the 4th day, but that's ok. That's a much closer example of what real first class wicket would look like outside of the subcontinent. I'm happy that they finally got over this nasty habit of tossing new/young batsmen into the deep end by pushing them to open. As if this "trial by fire" will produce good results. I firmly believe that only natural openers should open, your very best batsmen should be at 3 and 4, and any new batsman who isn't a natural opener should be coming in no higher than 4 or 5. They need to start approaching this thing more rationally.

Two innings and you done on his case. He was exceptional for the Super50 but continues to struggle in 4 day cricket. I suggest he give up the gloves and play as a specialist batsman.

Yes it was a very good cricket wicket and if you had good technique you would fare well. This is actually a 3rday wicket as they game started on Saturday and it played true all the way. The team selection was poor ( needed an extra seamer) as Barbados should not have been allowed to make so much runs. Also the lack of awareness by some of the batsmen suggests immaturity for eg we should have never missed that F/o target by 1 run. Possibly they thought that Barbados would not enforce it but once Barbados found out that KP would be out for the game they jumped on it.

Cornwall needs to be demoted from VC and hand that position to Hamilton. Leewards have more talent outside but if we do not have properly organized competitions we would not be able to find some more talents. You have Tyrone Williams, Kian Pemberton, Saaed Williams just a few young turks raring to go but no tournament. I am willing to help sponsor it but my company must get something in return.

Yeah VOR they definitely made a few blunders. Hopefully they learn from this and do better in the next match. And hopefully KP is well again and ready to play. It also sounds like we still have some promising youngsters waiting in the wings. Part of this new "professional structure" should be to insure proper inter-island and inter-county/parish competitions. Our cricket isn't going to improve until we get better players from the grass root levels.

vor, this is a top shelf player and I am really worried that he has no great player playing with him to groom him.

Yes it is a concern as he is part of a very young and inexperienced team with loads of potential but still finding their way. He should be given a retainer but like you suggested in another thread that is no given as we are yet to see an assessment of the retainers or proper grading before they are awarded.

I think he should play club cricket either for a top Barbadian club, for Queens Park in Trinidad or for an English club for at least three years.

The kid has a great cricketing brain. A pity the top order didn't stay with him and Bono.
We had a bad game and I look forward to a much improved next game.

I thought he batted well (like any 19-yr old) despite his limitations but he is a block that the team could build around.
I am glad that despite the more senior players failing he raise his hand and made a statement.
With a good management team supporting him; he could be one for the future if he remains focused and committed.
