Chanderpaul,

Despite being a part of the regional set-up for more than two-decades, former West Indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul believes he still had a lot left to offer

“A lot of things have been said in the past about me that the reflexes are gone, so I am happy for the opportunity given by the Guyana Cricket Board to come and show the public that it is not so,” he added.

“So if you are calling at my home and you are the chairman of selectors, you know where I am, so call me there, don’t call my home in Guyana. You were selling rumours to the people and the public. I can’t be with a West Indies team on a tour in Barbados and you are calling me in Guyana, so for me that was ridiculous,” the man popularly known as “The Tiger” to fans declared.

“At that point (of retirement) I still had a lot to contribute [because] the team needs players to hold it together,” the veteran told journalists after assisting the Guyana Jaguars to a seven-wicket win over Jamaica Scorpions in a Digicel Regional Four-day fixture at Sabina Park on Monday.

“I heard people saying that they called at my home to talk to me and couldn’t find me, but I was in Barbados with the West Indies team.

How can you call a player at home when he is playing for WI, find that very unbelievable!

I lost respect for Big PU-C a long time now...starting when he became a match referee...and made some ridiculous decisions

But I was happy when the former Mudland gov brought him to clean up Mudland cricket....I was baffled why the peeps there showed him absolutely no respect....but now I know....Big PU-C became a real weasel

Then his ex Waveney buss his bag to the world...that was the end of Big PU-C

I listened to Big PU-C declare that Chanderpaul was not going anywhere because of his age...yet months later he and Simmons OBSCENELY and DISGRACEFULLY kicked him to the curb....ordering him to retire....even though he humbly asked for just two more tests....not an unreasonable request as there was no obvious replacement for him

The much maligned Cameron batted for Shiv...but no avail

I have no sympathy when both Big PU-C and Philskunt were kicked to the curbed tooo...POETIC effin justice

WICB kept soup drinker Lloyd to axe Shiv and then kicked him to the curb..Lloyd deserves all the disrespect he gets in the WI and worldwide..

You disagree? Just follow the chronology..WICB cleaned slate and started afresh with Brung.

Cameron is a chameleon..if he really wanted Shiv, he would have fired soup drinker Lloyd and got his way just like how Ken Gordon overruled COS for Lara..

Shiv was treated badly many on here supported and called for his sacking using fake news.

And Cameron will rule like TRUMP....and make "WI cricket great again"....chaos everywhere....everyday..... wink

What they did to Shiv was a disgrace. They got rid of him to protect Lara's record. Shiv was out of form at the time but he was by no means done. Shiv would still be the best if he made the team today.

Quite frankly Devon Smith is still better than most on the current West Indies team.
