Don't blame the wickets

cricketmygame 2017-03-20 09:56:06

The batsmen need to score runs on all types of pitches

Windward made 293 and 71 in the same game. No wkt problem there

Guyana lower order bat better than both Guyana and Trinidad top order.

The Jamaica vs Windward game was a low scoring one but Leeward Island pacers took 20 wkts. That shows that it produced what West Indies is looking for better pace wickets

Now the batsmen need to adjust

You talk just because you have access to a computer and know nothing about the game. If the wicket is bad, no one will be able to bat on it. That is the reason a Test match in Jamaica was called off. It was deemed to be dangerous.

if West Indies was batting that test match would not have been called off. it would have been great English bowling.

also that was 20 yrs ago

Look no way to defend the pitch in Jam.
And no way you should be blaming the bats.
Seeing that 44 batsman batted, 40 of them was dismissed and only 2 of them crossed 30 with the highest score being 47.
374 match aggregate, less than 100 per innings.

Blame batsmen in the other matches but not this one, well you can blame them here too but the pitch has to take most of the blame.

“With that said, I think the pitch played a very huge role in the outcome because it was under-prepared at first-class status. But we could have batted a little better because the pitch was a little better for batting in the second innings, but I think we did not show enough fight and it led to the loss.

... man a run from pace.

cricketmygame 2017-03-21 11:29:40

no West Indian should ever complain about a pace wicket the same way I do not think Indians and Pakis should complain about spin wkts

that should be our strength

pitches like this should be prepared (under-prepared) more and when foreigners come let it loose on them

Get it through your thick head those days are long gone.

We are better with and against spin than pace,

That is the reality and that is how we should focus our attacks when the likes of OZ, ENG, NZ and SA visit us.

Every other nation has better fast bowling stocks than us and are more capable of playing pace than us. Let loose you say, boy allyuh does think before ur talk?

Bannas, that used to be the case, not so anymore! That was true at the peak of West Indies dominance!
Since the late 90s - 2000s the wickets in the WI have been playing low and slow and our batsmen have suffered because of it! I'm not sure if you're old enough to remember WI first tour to SA in 1998! WI couldn't handle SA bouncy tracks and their pacers with any comfort! So, its been a long time since pace and bounce have been absent from WI pitches!

Thats what I'm saying go with spin vs those non-Asian teams.
Most of them have come here in the recent past and struggled against our spin, we are more used to these slow low wickets use it to our advantage.

Part time/allround spin such as Deo, Chase and MClarke taking 5-fors on recent times shows how dominate spin is in International matches here.
We need to play atleast 2 spinners and an allrounder who bowls spin in most of our home games.

There's been times when the opposition come over here and read the conditions better and play 2 spinners but we stick to our 3 pacers and 1 spinner.

Well I guess atleast its better than the majority of the 2000's where no matter what it was shitprong 4prong.

west indies last two test wins if I remember correctly (pakistan and england) are on pace wkts which also helped our spinners because of the sharp turn and bounce
