What did Clinton Pestano do to make the squad ahead of Beaton and Raun Johnson?
Is time Beaton play for another franchise... maybe Leewards could give him a chance..
The Jaguars have resorted to an allspin attack....spin did the job last match vs The Leewards...but did the spin bother the Pride batsmen?
These two, Brathwaite and Hope have to be dismissed first....these are test players who have faced India and Pak....I think the rest are easier prey.

I am not surprise with his development.

The Bajan bowlers will bowl better on this pitch so we will see what happens tomorrow.

I can recall your posts and was very curious to see if that level of success would translate to the highest level. I have to admit that i was not very impressed when i saw him in the eary stages. He has improved, and has an appetite for runs and should allow him to be a mainstay for us in the test arena. On a side note, i would not run to the park to watch him bat, i would however hurry along to watch the stylist Brooks or Hope any day of the week. Todays play should be fun to watch.

I thought it was more of a sarcastic tongue in cheek comment, designed to throw a little shade after all of the bajan bashing regarding the selection policy. There are some funny and sad exchanges that takes place on this forum.
In reply to Narper
I also thought it funny and a copout when some claimed that Kraigg puts pressure on other batsmen. True his strike rate is far from ideal in ODI,but our cricket is so poor that we need someone who can bat for 20 overs. You are correct, he fully understands his role and values his wicket.
Pride 310-2 (100 ov) Hope 130, Brooks 18.

Them Bajans?
Guy 46-1 in 12 overs. Chandrika looking good. Pitch looks slowish but true.
Stoute to Johnson, with 2 slips and a gully. Steady line outside the off stump, but up and down length.
Guy 47-1 in 13 overs.
Cummins, around the wicket to Johnson now. Yet another no-ball from Cummins! Shortish length, getting the ball to rise to between waist and chest.

Jaguars 54-1 (14.2 ov) Chandrika 22, Johnson 14.
Chase strikes
Chandrika gawn
Jaguars seem unlikely to avoid the follow-on here.
Pitch playing true. The T20I on Sunday will be a run fest.
A different pitch will be used for the T20I, of course. It's probably the one that is covered by astroturf, near the pitch being currently used.
Johnskunt gawn for 15
Chase strikes again
In reply to Narper
Chandrika and now Johnson...Guyana in deep do do....60/3....
Johnson rapped on or about leg stump by Chase. Appeal goes up and the umpire rules it out lbw after a bit of consideration, but Johnson stands his ground in disbelief.
Comms say it was an arm ball, but it looked like a mild leg break that pitched a bit outside leg. Probably a bit unfortunate for Johnson that TV reviews are not available for regional first class matches, but that's the game.
Shiv is in he middle now.
Comms read off Shiv's amazing statistics in first class matches against Bdos at Kensington. Three centuries to Shiv at the Oval!
Play resumes and the Bajan players are obviously happy with the state of the match. They know that the cannot let these 2 mighty grinders, Shiv and Vishual, settle in.
Harding bowling. Nice action. Approach a bit wobbly. Having some no-ball problems at the moment.
Bowls a good, full length.

TRAPPED! Bramble lbw b Cummins 77 (127 mins, 115 balls, 12x4, 1x6).
Bramble lbw to the first ball faced off the second new ball!
Pitched on or about off stump, Bramble left it alone, but it moved in and struck him just below the roll. Bramble stood his ground for a while, but it looked fair enough.
Cummins bouncing Shepherd, who is handling it well, ducking and blocking as needed. Bajan comm (Tino?) overly excited now - openly pro-Bajan!

A fired up Cummins overpitches on Shiv's pad and is driven magnificently to the mid wicket boundary for 4!!!!!
Shiv goes to 46*.
Last ball of the over pitched outside leg and raps Shiv high on the pad. Slips and comms appeal excitedly!
Shepherd lbw to a well pitched up off break from Chase, that turned in sharply from outside the off stump!
Guyana needs about 90 to avoid the follow on.
Shepherd gawn for a blob LBW Chase
Anytime there is a LBW decision the coms are never in a position to give an opinion. One would thought that being close to the action they can at least offer some insight.....
50 to Shiv! 268 mins, 191 balls 4x4 1x6.
Typical Shiv stuff.
137 x 50s for Shiv
Cummins getting decent bounce from the second new ball. Bouncing Bishoo too! Changes to around the wicket, but Bishoo defends one rising to the body stoutly.
Chase continues. He has been bowling well. Very economical action. Length a bit short at times.
Shiv caught at slip by Nurse off Chase, playing at one on a perfect length and line on off stump!!!
Guyana 245-8 in 87 overs.
Shiv goes for 50
Very nice to hear the respect the commentators give Shiv.I know he loves batting in Barbados and the crowd loves him back.
Pestano in. He is considered an all-rounder in Berbice, where he represents Rose Hall Town in First Division cricket.
Play resumes after the drinks break, with Bishoo facing Cummins, bowling around the wicket. Changes back to over.
Bishoo slashes at a rising ball just outside off and is caught at 1st slip by Paint!!!
Guyana 245-9.
Bishoo gawn for a blob
Bishoo c Brathwaite b Cummins 0

Guyana really don't want this trophy
Motie in. Pestano hasn't faced a ball yet!

that was poor
they needed another 50 runs at least and 20 overs scratched
now theyll have to chase about 300 on day 3

yes, a point, literally
The Guyana lower order batsmen were mostly timid, and suffered from close lbw decisions as a result.
Many of them stood their ground too after being given out. Not good.

Follow on enforced
In reply to mikesiva
Bdos might regret enforcing the follow on. They may have to bat last on a wicket that might be pounded by a full day's worth of international cricket.
that's a mistake to follow and may work in Guyana's favor
they just need to bat long and don't worry about anything
just bat and bat
In reply to Norm
to me that is the better chance given to guyana
who would not want to chase 300 on the final day
now they can bat all day today and dig deeper tomorrow
less pressure for Guyana?
Guyana openers are in the middle.
Pollard, Rovman and Walton in T20I squad!
Cummins to Hety. Leaves one close to off stump alone.
Second ball, on off, driven beautifully to long off for 4!!!
A rising ball outside off take Hety's bat unintentionally, but flies safely thru the gully for 2.
Hety changes his bat after a poorly timed drive off Cummins.
230 runs lead.
A session an a half left in the day's play.
A day to rest.
Seems like a no brainer to make the jaguars follow on.
Hety plays ungainly at, and misses a short rising ball on off stump.

Hety fans at one loosely..lucky he didn't get a touch

Very disappointing that Harding does not get the new ball. Kraigg captaincy as pedestrian as his batting. Following Stoute's lead from the last match but the circumstances were very different.
Cummins gets one to rise off a length to Chandrika a strikes him on the glove. Falls safely. Chandrika takes off the glove and is obviously uncomfortable.
Changes his guard and drives a full ball from Cummins straight back beautifully for 4!!!!
Guyana 14-0 in 3 overs. Batsmen confer in the middle, as Chase prepares to continue.
Cummins leaves the field at the end of the over and the substitute Greaves comes on to the field.
Hety turns Chase off the pads nicely to fine leg for 4!!!!
Chandrika drives a pitched up delivery on off from Chase straight back for 4 too!
Guyana 23-0 in 4 overs.

NOT EFFIN LEARNING AT ALL
In reply to Narper
Fast food at work, very little attention span
Hetmeyer rapidly becoming Blackwood 2.0. An improved version of the earlier model but the same tendency to crash and burn.
Can Leon Johnson earn some of that match fee?
and can he lay some claim to this title if they win it
now is the time
It's so frustrating. Hetmeyer is already my favourite batsman in the Caribbean to watch. All the shots you could possibly want, judges length really quickly and scores runs rapidly.
He needs to be on the next A tour again and get some close attention from Toby Radford and co. It is an absolute crime that he keeps getting out for quickfire 30s and 40s when he can do so much better.
Especially when the likes of Shai Hope and Ambris, who are admittedly 3 or 4 years older, are now cashing in with huge hundreds. I really hope he sorts himself out because there is nobody in the Caribbean that I would rather watch bat.

Guyana 82-3 in 28 overs.
Johnson is regressing with every match.
One for two for us.
Nurse continues, to Shiv. On drives to the mid-wicket fielder and runs. Visual had to hurry for the unexpected run.
Vishual drives a delivery on off stump from Nurse to the cover boundary for 4!!
Guyana 87-3 in 29 overs.

Shiv needs to be recalled to the test team.
Just like wine getting better with age.
Stoute to bowl, to Shiv. He takes a new (leg stump) guard.
Flicks the 1st ball to fine leg for 1. Shiv is all business here.

No ball next, wide outside off. Left alone. Cut to point for 1. Cummins then beats Vishual's defensive push outside off!

Another Chase maiden. Guyana 232-7 in 90 overs.

Bishoo fans at a rising ball just outside off and is caught behind for 2!
Guyana 234-8!
Pestano in.
Punches it into the ground. It lobs up off the ground and is caught by a close in fielder. A fired up Cummins appeals vehemently! Ump says "Not out!"
Guyana 234-8 in 91.
Chase again, to Reifer. Another Chase maiden.
Guyana 234-8 in 92 overs.
It will take a miracle to save Guyana now! They failed against Cummins with the second new ball, in both innings.

Guyana 235-8 in 93 overs.
Chase again. Reifer takes a single off the 1st ball! Moves down and drives to mid-wicket. Single.
Guyana 237-8 in 94 overs.

Good fight back, but Bdos still in charge.
anything less than 100 and Bim can chase at 10 an over to win

14 overs to go. Lead is 86.
Stoute again, to Reifer.
Beats Reifer's defensive prod just outside off.
Comms start to moan and groan! "Can you explain why Harding didn't bowl [much]?", asks Mason.
Stoute bowling a good line just outside off and moving away, but Reifer is leaving them alone. He is obviously very familiar with Stoute's bowling.

Only fielding restrictions are no more than 2 behind square on the leg side.
Anything else is fair game....I don't generally agree with that, I think 4th innings should be played with ODI fielding restrictions. But I won't complain as it helps us salvage a draw.
this chase is still interesting because of the context of the tounament
Bajan openers in the middle, and the ground staff are still rolling the pitch!
Apparently there was a dispute between Guyana cappo Johnson and the umpires about the number of overs to be bowled.
Apparently it was decided that 12 overs will be available.
First ball, a short one on leg, from Reifer pulled over square leg for 6 by Shai Hope!!!

Guyana created most of their luck today with defiance and good lower order fight
kragg probably regrets the follow on
In reply to Curtis Yes they are. Got a Bajan as the main batsman for TnT, a Bajan as the top allrounder for Windwards, and a Bajan as Guyana's go to man when the pressure is on. We are exporting the leadership round the region.
By the way, I think Reifer is taking this professionalism thing to far though. Thwarted Bim almost singlehandedly in each of the last 3 years

if Bim had not enforced the follow on the game will never get to this result, The wicket was good after 5 days.

Clearly playing Shiv in the squad was a very smart choice. His vast experience and continued production are invaluable. The rewards are being reaped. Kudos to the Guyanese selectors for their wise choice.

Congrats muddies on playing with Pride " no pun intended."
