For either Leon Johnson or Shane Dowrich
who are short of putting up big innings.

An Ambris century here would muddy the waters

Leon in trouble
In reply to Yadi

Just imagine...at one time he was our #3 test batsman***talented...but foolish...

The weight of Ambris'es runs makes it
impossible to continue to ignore him.
In reply to cricketmygame
Ambris reminds me of the great Irving
Shillingford (who is an academic).
In reply to Yadi
Two point to consider. gotta credit matchy for point out that he failed 5 innings prior since Brown called him out
second (non matchy point) how valuable is dot vs dot performances?
I have not yet seen Ambris , but I have seen Irving Shillingford from
age 17 , and it was quite obvious
to allwho saw Irving Shillingford he
was a very special Batsman , blessed with an array of attacking
strokes .
Ambris was about 12 years old when I was in SVG ; and I did not get to see him playing Cricket , but
I do not think that he currently can
be compared to Irving Shillingford .
In reply to Yadi

Big cahuna Brung seh yuh can't mek runs one season and walk into thw WI team....if yuh not bajan
In reply to POINT
That what happens when you are one dimensional, Ambris just played eight games in the 50 overs competition, these games were stream for the world to see.
be compared to Irving Shillingford .
Tell us how you can compare a batsman who you not seen, to someone you have seen?
Bro, leave this kind of things to the cricket fans, who watch the game, and have seen both players.

Did you know Ambris mek a ton in his first FC innings ...against Mudland
In reply to Narper
It is going to stuff to get rid of Kraigg, Shai, Dowrich and Chase on the test team, if they continue batting.
The ODI team has plenty holes so anything can happen in the squad.
In reply to Narper
Yes I did, as a matter of fact, he plays cricket in bim, for Cherrie's club.
He and Harding are Carltonites.
In reply to Yadi
Thanks Mr. Ambris - this is what you need do to stake a claim. Let this be the beginning of consistency; this is how you build a resume. Selectors can't ignore continues production like this - good luck in the next series.

only braffit has really delivered in test...dowrich and chase strted well but have been fading....Hope has much to prove in test
In reply to Narper
Dowrich was a partner in the last test against Pakistan
Chase is showing everyone he can spin the ball along with his batting.
In reply to Narper
Exactly
Chase, hope,Dowrich and even kraig has not cemented a place in the Wi test team cz they have done ok without doing exceptional.if Ambris cont scoring runs and those guys don't take they game to the next level I don't see why he can't get a look in.
In reply to openning
So who would partner Kraigg at the top of the inning for Test matches? Ambris in my opinion could put pressure on Samuels.
In reply to dayne
Kraigg
?
Bravo, he should be playing cricket
Hope
Blackwood, it is up to him, if he want to play test cricket
Chase
Dowrich
Holder ???
?
Joseph
Gabriel

Leewards bowling is better than it has been in the past particularly due to the inclusion of Joseph and Cornwall.
In reply to Yadi
Ambris for the Pak ODIs.
Ambris is at the beginnig of his career , therefore there cannot yet be any comparison betweenIrving Shillingford & Sunil Ambris .
BTW , one year in his career in Regional Cricket Shillingford was
the best batsman in the REGION ,
The Bums in the WICBC gave the trophy to Vivian Richards to give
Irving Shillingford .
I cite this to illustrate that it is crass
stupidity at this stage of his career
to compare Sunil Ambris to Irving
Shillingford .

Kraigg is currently our incumbent opener, so not sure why you have his name there. He has actually made runs for west indies especially the last year. Dowrich deserves to stay as well, he has been doing a good job down at #6/7 and that last innings in UAE was brilliant.
Chase since that ton against India hasn't been up to much, Shai in all fairness in test cricket should have never been given the opening spot. He like Leon Johnson have been made scape goats at that spot.
I like the competition though, Chase and Blackwood will know that with Ambris and Shai Hope form, one of their spot could be up for grab with another string of poor performance.
In reply to jen
Is he batting too low in this weak batting line-up?
He plays for Carlton, Roland Butcher in the last match was saying in the match against the Pride, he should give up the gloves and bat higher.
BTW, one of Roland guys from Dominica is in the squad and keeps for Cave Hill.
In reply to openning
Well I think he should give up the keeping for sure, as far as the batting go, #5 aint a bad thing. He may faster get in Windies team as a #5 in test given Shais form
In reply to jen
Chase's batting is still a question in tests. But he also sends down plenty of overs for us.
Ambris just put his hands up, the selectors has to be looking.
Scoring runs get you selected, and he is scoring runs.

Mr Point, there are times when Yadi
uses the z English Language to stimulate
a certain Historical comparison .....
I am an academic. Therefore there are
subtle nuances associated with the manner
in which I speak.
