Dat is how you bowl legspin...with plenty of variety.
In reply to Courtesy
Any better leggie in WI who does such?
Our Leggies are 1 trick ponies.
In reply to Courtesy
Anything those Pak spinners do, Narine could pelt better.
In reply to Runs
Absolutely not...but invest in any other bowler.
If Luchyshoo has not learnt the art of legspin even after attending clinics with the top legspinners he will never learn.
In reply to Courtesy
Bishoo has not progressed
In reply to Runs
Luckyshoo is now at the point of diminishing returns.
In reply to Courtesy
Disappointing
In reply to Runs
Ask any reasonable batsman and he will tell you if a spinner does not have plenty variety he will very quickly overcome that bowler.
In reply to Courtesy
Didn't Bishoo take 8 test wickets in an innings 6 months ago?
As far as I know...Saqlain did one clinic
Now England has snapped up Saqlain
Who is the WI coach for spinners in the WI team? NOBODY
ALL the active world spinners have coaches working with them...full time
Nurse has been around for a couple of years in the WI squad
In reply to Narper
Bishoo has to take responsibility for his own cricket development and the art of legspin.
He has not progressed with so many years in the game.
If anything he has regressed badly.
In reply to Courtesy
Why do other international teams hire coaches then?
Why have England hire Saqlain recently?
In reply to Narper
OK...no one has coached Bishoo all these years.
So he has to wait until a coach is provided for him specifically...no initiative...no google...no internet.
In reply to Courtesy
Man...I pointed out he took 8 test wickets recently in an inngs
Obviously there is something there....WHY CAN'T THE WICB INVEST IN HIM some more
In reply to Narper
No one said "there was nothing there".
If Bishoo cannot bowl a googly with regularity then he can forget bowling as a legspinner and I am not even talking about his lack of control.
West Indies should terminate immediately any further investment in Luckyshoo.
In reply to Courtesy
Okay...you have your view and I have mine...
Let's not detract from the debutant in the current T20
I won't be surprised if this young chap bamboozle the world's best batsmen in the near future
Narper the following questions should assist you in putting Luckyshoo spin bowling in perspective.
* Does in bowl a top spinner at will?
* Does he bowl a googly with regularity?
* Can he bowl with control consistently?
* Can he bowl with guile:
The above questions will only be useful if you remove your head from the sand.
In reply to Courtesy
Look....my point exactly....he NEEDS A PROPER COACH to work with him
In reply to Narper
As long as he bowls with guile, variety and control there is no reason why he should not be successful. Ask Shane Warne.
In reply to Narper
Ok...Let him go and work with a proper coach and when he learns the art of legspin he can return. No more learning on the job...it has not worked.
In reply to Narper
Btw, Narper, I have asked the TV guys to cut a DVD of the four overs from de Pakistani leggie and have it sent to Luckyshoo's hotel room.
Tomorrow I will make arrangements for him to receive a DVD player with ultra slow motion.
In reply to Courtesy
I see EVERY single current WEST INDIAN PLAYER LEARNING ON THE JOB....from #1 to #11.....its not working....we are at the bottom in ICC ranking
Better WI suspend ODI and Test...and even T20 ...until the players are ready
In reply to Narper
Better WI suspend ODI and Test...and even T20 ...until the players are ready
You're wide awake now. Our players lack the fundamentals of the game...well err except Shai Hope.

Piton head
Why didn't you get a dvd for Bishoo when H&H regime was in charge.
The kid was in T&T playing for Williamsville in a B league learning .
Duj in a cryptic way in describing de Pakistani leggie strengths is pointing out Luckyshoo's weaknesses.
Doh try dat Duj.
Let's blame DD for convening this series outside of our T20 (CPL) window when everyone is out of practice for the format.
I must agree with Courtesy here.
I've been writing about Bishoo's lack of variety for years, not only his his bowling lacks variety, he bowls too many long hops.
Narp, Nurse ball is just too havy for him, it seem like it weight a pound, another spinner that is a robot is Warrican, he has know idea of bowling.
Bishoo should be putting in hours of work, to get his bowling up to scratch
In reply to openning
Leg spin is very easy to play on its own...it's the variety that confuses batsmen, particularly if it is well concealed.
Bishoo should know this by now. He seems happy to remain within his comfort zone...leg break, leg break, leg break, leg break, leg break, leg break...OVER.
If Luckyshoo did not know this...he can watch de new chinaman and googly bowler for India and now Shadab for Pakistan.
....................
Anyway, I hope by now de TV chaps would have delivered the DVD to Bishoo's hotel room.
Tomorrow he will get the DVD player.
In reply to Courtesy
The spinners on both teams are a joy to watch, they can hit a spot and remain on it or close to it ball after ball, bowling both side of the wicket.
Bishoo has done very little from what I see, to tell me he has added more to his arsenal.
In reply to openning
If Luckyshoo could bowl a well concealed googly and the flipper with control and with regularity, even when he bowls his long hop it would be difficult for batsmen to put him away.
At the moment 99.99 percent leg breaks...eat and drink for any reasonable batsman.
In reply to Runs
bishy has lots of potential. He is doing fine at the test level. Need a good spin coach.
The Pak youth confusing batsmen the way Narine used to. Narine has been worked out and lost that wicket taking ability. Did I hear the comms right he has not taken a wicket in the last 5 T/20 matches? This should currently be our biggest worry.
If a player eh prepared to experiment on his/her own and put in de hard work, no amount of coaching will do anything.
When players are not prepared to think for themselves and rely solely on being coached dey hardly go very far.

Please feel free to start the obligatory batsman version!

Tank you sah. That is why improvisation in blues and Jazz is so sweet. No sheet music.
In reply to StumpCam
Brother de batsmen I saw today convinced me dey should all be working in an abattoir. I am very happy I saw Alvin Isaac Kallicharran and Lawrence George Rowe.
And I can only Hope that Shai will deliver the goods.
