West Indies continues to create cricket history today when for the first time in T20 cricket a Night Watchman was sent into bat, as some how Bowler Narine was sent into bat ahead of all rounder Powell. Not sure if young Powell on his debut went to relieve himself when it was his turn to go out to bat or he didn't expect that he would have to bat soon as WI wickets tumbled early, we can only speculate on the number of reasons why Narine was sent into bat ahead of Powell.

WI created history, 1st Night Watchman in T20
In reply to Slippery Fella
In other words Rovman Powell's failure is due to him being demoted in favor of the night watchman Narine?
In reply to Slipfeeler
Narine has been sent in as a pinch hitter before
I don't recall it ever worked...so I don't know why the team persists in continuing with it...because Narine is always more miss than hit
In reply to Slipfeeler
Idiot,
Narine opened batting in de Bog Bash dis year.
for a few games to bout.
Later moved to midde order.

The abject skipper wouldn't even give the debutant Kesrick a bowl.
In reply to Drapsey
you think it would have made a difference????
In reply to hawk
That was just to rile up VOR, but he didn't bite.
In reply to Drapsey
ahhh duly noted
It would have been a much better strategy if Carlos had come in at the time Narine came in, Carlos is a much better batsman than Narine and it would have looked better to see the captain leading the batting recovery.

So ok wise man, use Narine as opener on the next match!
In reply to Slipfeeler
I not trying to play wise,
Just stating something that any aficionado
would have realize if he was watching cricket
De Oz skipper saw something in Narine
If an Ozzie Captain can see it
why shouldn't we see it.
Narine opened quite a few times in Ozziland.
After a few failures opening,
the cappo move him down the order a bit.
And Yes Finch was Ozz cappo in their last T20.
In reply to TanteMerle... guess that experiment failed ... no? So after that never work a Ozland, we come try it here.
Let's be realistic here for a sec.
Leg spinner bowling, our righties are clueless to him, we send in our only leftie to hopefully but him off. Not the smartest move as he can bowl a googly too, but that is what the team management was thinking at least.

If the experiment failed then explain to us Oh Wiseman why should WI implement a failed experiment? You might finally see our point !

I think Cricketluva 4 is on to something, but then that would have required that somebody in the WI pavillion have a brain, and we know how that goes
In reply to CricketLuva4
If you are giving our management the benefit of the doubt, that could have been the only logical explanation. I was a bit miffed when i saw that he actually batted before Powell.
