Samsung Galaxy S8...

Gun_Play 2017-03-30 05:45:06

Looks impressive...

If there are no technical issues this could help Samsung regain lost ground after the Note 7 debacle.

What do you guys think?

And the youtuber is wrong... Apple's upcoming Iphone 8 is not in same cycle as the S8.

It's in the same cycle as the IPhone 7, making the S8 the Iphone 7 true competitor.

Apple's cycle is a year ahead of Samsung.

Looks great though I'm kinda done paying top tier money for phones.I don't need VR , 6 gigs of Ram or 128 gigs of storage.

I usually just buy a $200 - $600 Chinese job these days.

I was looking at a non-Chinese no name phone I mean i am still wondering how these guys could still manage to give you a phone with pretty much the same power and screen yet a larger battery, why Samsung still on the 3000maH?
Other than that from what I saw on the S8 looks like it will give the next IPhone a run.

I tried going to an Android phone last year with the S7. Couldn't do it. Way too gimmicky. Went back to my iPhone after only 6 months.

Nothing beats the simplicity and user-friendliness of an iPhone. And you can get a used iPhone 6s in great condition for less than $400 if you know where to look.

Apple really needs to put in a physical back button and stop with this extreme minimal stuff.

I don't really miss that back button on the iPhone. That's an Android thing really.

I'm a tech head so that sorta stuff doesn't bother me smile
But I know what you mean regarding ease of use etc.
Like you said if you are smart and can avoid the hype and lines of a brand new flagship , you can usually score a decent bargain when the ADD kids have grown tired of their new toys.

Physical back buttons are pretty much dead in the Android world as well.
Everyone is is pretty much moving to on screen customization navi buttons at the bottom.

Never could do the Apple thing.

Way too restrictive.

I like to customize everything about my handset.

To each his own I guess.

Yea, it does look great.

I'm a Note user.

The upcoming Note phone should be a killer if they improve the camera and battery life.

I can't do Apple. I'm using Google Nexus 5X. I love stock Android and hate the bloatware that comes with some Android phones. My next will be a Google Pixel.

Gun_Play 2017-04-02 11:33:41

In reply to Cardiac

How good is the pixel?

I've considered getting a Nexus before but I

always end up with Samsung or htc.

I may consider LG g6 this year just to

try something different.

Samsung is good at marketing and nice flashy bulbs and lights...

It has some good stuff but I am not going to get drawn in by Samsung again...not when it comes to Handsets...

damage done and it will take more than just one cycle to regain my trust.

True, HTC make some damn good phones. I Keep them all, refuse to sell them. I loved that it had inferred to control ANY (old school) device plus all the current items like Bluetooth etc..

Apple has actual stayed (relatively) stagnant in terms of innovation since the iPhone 4

I like Samsung for it's innovation.

They tend to give you more for you money... Even if some people think they're gimmicks.

I also like their designs.

The Note series for me are the best phones ever made.

Samsungs tends to lead the way and everyone else follows.

Agree on the HTC comment.

Apple is a bit too restrictive for me... optimized very well but its very limited in terms of functionality.

LG seems to be making some good stuff right now.
