Who is coaching the batsmen how to play Shadab?
WICB hired Radford for the position of batting Coach.
Don't you remember all the great ones he produced at the HPC ???
BCL ain't chupid he is staying away from this bunch of ediots.
I am not a coach just a poor cricket player, Charlie Davis said it best.
Play spinners off the front foot, meet the ball before it hits the pitch
That's what he told Sobers.
Charlie was very good against spinners, he moved his feet .
In reply to Narper
Ah hear the coach ask Lara for a lil help- Lara being the best batter against spinners in the history of the game
In reply to sgtdjones
Only Chandrika comes to mind
In reply to Narper
All the batsman should be reviewing tapes of the last two games
West Indies didn't make any changes after a dismal performance in the first game, so they are likely to stick with the side that so significantly improved four days later. The only question mark may be over the inclusion of Rovman Powell, who fell for a first-ball duck, with Jason Mohammad a possible replacement.

Polly's day numbered...he better do something spectacular tomorrow
In reply to Narper
Just call in Luckyshoo to give de fellas some practice. That will work just fine.
In reply to Courtesy
Irony is the Pak batsmen can't handle Bish
In reply to Narper
All the more reason for Luckyshoo to bowl against our fellas in de nets for better batting practice.
Shoo is a better legspinner...even de Pakis cannot play him.
In reply to Courtesy
In fact he was in the nets with the team in Bim...on his rest day...the morning of the 1st T20I
In reply to Narper
Little wonder...
Our fellas tasted de syrup in de nets and got drowned in it.
So Polly had de full confidence that he can dance down de pitch. It was an attempted follow up to what happened in de morning.
In reply to sgtdjones
Sobers was drunk that day
In reply to Courtesy
Maaan....read carefully....where did I say he bowled in de nets?????
You must not assume anything...
In reply to Narper

Context my friend...context.
In reply to Narper
So far...Ricardo Powell and Devon Smith have been coaching them
In reply to Courtesy
I could have said he BOWLED in the nets...but I didn't...that is the context...your syrup theory has collapsed
In reply to Narper
OK I take that back. Luckyshoo does not bowl syrup is Shadab who bowls it and Shoo bowls Savitra.
Dis done.

When u no nutting it's wise to be quiet.
Why not check the series that India played in the West indies and see how he did
against the Indian spinners
Then check Charlie Davis, see how he did.
In reply to Narper
Polly isn't happy with the WICB.
His play is lack luster, he comfy with the IPL and the million US each year.

yes, you know much, Sobers played against the best spinners from Aussie, England , India and Pakistan and murdered them.
How many top spinners did Charlie play against?
In reply to tc1
Oy dont sleep on Charlie. He was a solid player.
In reply to Larr Pullo
agreed, He most likely never saw either Gary or Charlie bat.
In reply to Larr Pullo
he did not coach Sobers on playing spin.
In reply to tc1
You obviously know little about the past.
Gupte had Sobers number when India played in the Caribbean
Sobers kept playing the Indian spinners off the back foot.
Look at Charlie's numbers playing the same Indian spinners

Read some stuff about Charlie DAVIS .He averaged 54.20 in Tests
In reply to sgtdjones
These guys don't know. Charlie was no joke!
BCL had a word with Lewis
E Lewis c Wahab Riaz b Shadab Khan 91 (51b 5x4 9x6) SR: 178.43
Shadab Khan 3.5 0 38 1
In reply to sgtdjones/ Larro
Sobers never played against Gupte in the Caribbean, he played him in India and murdered him , 3 centuries in 4 matches, 142*,198 run out and 106*.
Rohan scored 256 in that series.
Charlie is one of Sobers best buddies, he is the one that brought Lara to Sobers in the Sobers Tournament at a 14 yo.
Charlie Davis also shared another famous story to journalist Sriram Veera about one of his West Indian teammates who asked if 'he (Sobers) bats like this all the time?', after Sobers raced from 29 to 132 in 30 minutes after a bowler hit Basil Butcher in the chest with a bouncer. Charlie replied, "He is Garry Sobers, you know. What he can do, we can't even think of doing."

Sorry my error check out the series with India 1971.
Sobers had difficulty playing the Indian spinners off the back foot
Charlie mentioned play them off the front foot. Sobers did if I recall
then the last Test in the last innings went back to the back foot.
I am aware there is an article about this will try and find it .
In reply to sgtdjones
Sobers vs India - 1971 - 4 tests - 3x100s and a 93.....average 74
In reply to sgtdjones
Ok, he was a strong back foot player
In reply to Narper

Kanhai had a word with Sobers in that series
Babulal was one of a kind then they broke the mould .
In reply to tc1
Steel Beam sergeant knows nothing about that 71 series.
Nor much about cricket period
There were many good partnerships between Charlie and Garry in that series
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
