ODI: Kraigg Brathwaite DROPPED!

RemainsUnknown 2017-04-03 10:07:52

I think he could've had this last full series (3 ODIs in Guyana) to see if he can make a bigger impact. Up that SR by 20 points or so.

Oh well...let's see how many games we can bat out 50 overs.
cry cry cry cry

He wasnt allowing us to bat 50 overs though.

Lets see if he was really putting pressure on the others

FuzzyWuzzy 2017-04-03 10:14:06

I hope everybody is happy now and we go on to beat pakistan

its a better team

A better team?....This squad has only THREE pure batsmen in Hope,Mohammed and Carter!

Walton
Powell
Lewis
Powell
....all hit or miss batsmen who will no doubt struggle against the skilled Pak bowlers!

DIEHARD 2017-04-03 10:32:38

Not leagues better mind you.

We just got rid of two parts that were definitely not working.

Its still a weak team, marginal improvements, but better IMHO.

FuzzyWuzzy 2017-04-03 10:36:46

It may be a blessing for Kraigg not to have to deal with the newbie leggie

analyst-kid 2017-04-03 10:40:07

In reply to FuzzyWuzzy

Kraigg would have milked that leggie... you remember Kraigg is the guy that scored the most and avg the highest against Pak in the last test series?

Kraigg would have made MORE runs against Pak than Eng!

jacksparrow 2017-04-03 13:21:27

Well for all those chastising the man and posting all kinds of stats and numbers to justify their arguments, lets see what will be posted after this new episode of West Indies Confusion.

Gun_Play 2017-04-03 13:26:59

How can men who average less than Kraigg in the just concluded regional 50 over competition be picked and not Kraigg.

Unbelievable! big grin

West Indians like some flashy batsmen that can't bat for 10 overs.

Anyway, goodluck... I'm still backing the fellas.

Were it not for the fact that Walton beginning to show a little form.

Just a little form..I'd have stuck with Kraigg.

But given the fact that Walton make a little runs and is a quick scorer.

I'd gamble with him

I think this is unprecedented in the history of cricket that two openers avg 9 and 5 in an ODI series would be retained in front another opener who doubled their avg.

A lotta pressure on Hope, Mohammed and Carter to hold the WI innings together and post a competitive score.

How often can Lewis,Powell and Walton get away against Pak Bowling?

imusic 2017-04-03 17:43:52

If this isn''t boycott worthy by the bajans....WTF dey did boycott fuh anderson cummins for?

BOYCOTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! cool

I think the selectors err in dropping KB. KB brings stability to any team he's in... am almost sure WI would not bat out 50 overs...

camos 2017-04-03 20:41:49

Kraig tie down one end all the opponent need to do is concentrate on one batsman! lol

Oh yeah... them fellas are t20 cricketers... go out there and swing lumber, and before u know it - they r bowled out in 40 -45 overs..

RemainsUnknown 2017-04-04 11:21:33

So Stuart Law said that Kraigg was spoken to after the England ODI series with West Indies and he was informed that the West Indies team needs someone with more impetus at top of the order for the first 10 overs.

So that's the plan. We will surely see some intent and potentially some fireworks at the top.

Let's see after the 3 ODI's how that worked out.

It will be interesting, indeed.

...who had a VERY successful ODI and Cricket career, overall. Worked for him. Too bad most of his team mates sucked and couldn't hold a bat. lol lol lol

Slipfeeler 2017-04-04 13:06:27

In reply to RemainsUnknown

It's not just holding a bat, in ODI the SRA is very important. Remember we had 75% of dot balls in the first 10 overs. We cannot win an ODI match with that type of scoring,,I rather take my chances with aggressive batsmen that s the only way to win ODIs.

imusic 2017-04-04 13:10:49

Is a good ting we have a Aussie coach....otherwise.... cool

Scar 2017-04-05 22:53:48

Amd the ODI and T20 matches seem to be increasimg in S/R and scores. Years ago 200 was par, then 250 then 275, 300, now teams hitting 375+ because they have their blazers at the top to get 50 in first 5/6 overs for the first wicket -OZ philosophy with that mad hit everything at the top of the order.

runout 2017-04-05 23:08:13

WillWI bat out 50 overs without KB??
