I saw part of his innings yesterday and was impressed. He was solid in defense and decisive in attack. His confident demeanor was refreshing and I understand he is still a teenager.
The beauty of the tournament with all the stars and first choice players missing is that you discover a few gems and he is certainly one.
It goes to show that we have the talent in the region but the lack of skills in the administration side is what ails us.

who dem?

This 19 year old can bat.
Opening bat and keeper.
I hope he gets his ton against Bim today.....ended on 71* last night in the day/night match against Bim. Good mixture of defence and aggression.

Andy
Can you post some young T&T players that if they work hard can become
future CWI players.
I have been away for the last two years and lost track of the younger ones.
Jangoo looks like a 6 footer and big .

Hard to say. Really thought we had a good group coming through in the Yannicks(Cariah and Ottley) Katwaroo and Hosein. But they have disappointed time and time again.
But Jangoo is very promising, I have high hope for him.
Khary Pierre to if given a fair chance can make it to the top.
Our youth cricketers aren't of a good standard.

Kallicharan?
In reply to Narper
Good in school boy cricket but hasn't stepped up for WI youth teams.
In reply to Narper
And same with Solozano.
Rajah is another promising one, if he learns who to turn his starts into meaningful scores, he'll be a fine player.
But I think if Cariah keeps working hard, and he has been this season, then next season could be a really big breakthrough season for him.
Without WI players this is the TNT team I'd like to see in 4day cricket:
Jangoo
Hope
Rajah
Cariah
Yttley
????(Open spot)
Primus
Pierre
Richards
??????(maybe Bryan Charles, Jovan Ali)
Cotterell
Still think Soodeosingh deserves a out.

What is the latest on this bunch ? Shouldn't they be beating up on bowlers in FC Cricket?
Are they playing club cricket in T&T?
Since retainer contracts some have fallen by the wayside .

Yannick Ottley - Started the season as captain, played and captained the first half of the 4day season then dropped for the Super 50 and didn't make the team again for the 4day. Didn't bat well at all.
Cariah - A decent season with the bat but just decent with a few scores. Needs to dominate next season.
Katwaroo - Very poor this season, played all 8 matches until this one and was unacceptable with the bat. The usual 1 or 2 good innings in there but failures otherwise.
Hosein - Went with the Leeward team this season, hasn't been impressive.
Pooran - Banned from WICB cricket. (But I forgot about him, true talent tho may be lost to T20 leagues)
Solozano - Much like Katwaroo got a good run but dropped after not doing anything of note.
Charles - Just got his start and has done a decent job.
All of them play club cricket and do well enough.

Not me start de thread
Allyuh doh learn.
And Granite, u must temper ur enthusiasm, lil runs is nothing to boast or get excited about.
And I not talking about this thread alone

I don't think I went overboard with any of my posts about Windies cricketers, batsmen or bowlers,I recall saying we(TT) are a rubbish lot and can't bat,I mentioned an unknown Bim fbowler can bat better than our batsmen, that was all.The Jangoo fella has been showing signs of being capable of doing well ,allbeit with scores of 30s and I think a couple 50s,prior to this 71.I also talked about Blackwood,Ambris,Cornwall and Rajah,I didn't ask for them to be propelled into test cricket.

No bro Im Trini too. But I mean like a month or 2 ago, after a whole season of failures Katawroo made a 50 and he praised him for it.
Hosein after 1 performance in the Super 50 too.
Ur just to optimistic. Thats just my opinion tho.
These are talented players, I have/had high hopes for them too but we shouldnt be celebrating a single performance after a season of failure.(This doesn't apply to Jangoo)
And we, most of us on here, celebrate 50s to much.

A lot of posters are superstitious. So if you say something good about a player, then you would jink that players- it is a bad culture I tell you,
Many people based their life on superstition belief.
