And he didn't get anyone out ....except himself
What a total disappointment this fella has been
Context
Carter was at the crease at a time when the run rate needed to be increased
Therefore that increases the amount of risk a batsman must take to achieve that goal
Batsmen that come in at that stage of a game will likely experience more failure than success because of the risk involved in that situation. The 137 S/R was needed at the time. Obviously it would have been better had he gone on to score more runs at that pace. But at least he did what he was required to do.

He has scored 14 (11) , 12 (20) and now 11 (8 ) in the ODI series
This 29 year old is not cutting it...after 22 ODIs ..his ave is 25 with a SR of 73

Don't you love the excuses for mediocrity

The score with 10 overs to go in a 50 over match was 169 for 4
Run Rate of just over 4 per over. Hope was already playing an "anchor" role
What instructions do you think Carter was given by team management at the fall of the 4th wicket?
BTW....I dealing with today's match.....

Am not a Carter fan by any means. However, i totally agree with your take on yesterday's game.High risk and low reward situation.
