#LIHvTRF: Red Force 4/0 (2 ovs) Jangoo 2, Khan 0. Covers called on. There is a heavy drizzle at present. Tonge and Louis shared new ball.

Leewards won the toss and asked TnT to bat.

#LIHvTRF: CHANCE: Rajah 22* edges a good ball from Louis to 2nd slip & it's grassed by Hodge. That was a dolly. Should have been taken.

How much your Test Batsman Ambris mek?

voiceofreason 2017-04-15 13:24:54

In reply to buds
He did not get it done. There is always the second innings. 29 out of 77 I will not accept.

Not like you Yardies who jump and wave every time your batsmen score a half century.

Does not change the fact that he should have at least been in the Pres XI.

Playing against the Leewards newbies. Even steven. smile

voiceofreason 2017-04-16 12:34:51

Leewards bowling is really weak so I am not sure who came up with the bright idea to bowl first on a notoriously flat Warner Park pitch.

Narper 2017-04-16 14:02:08

T&T 519/7

Cariah 168* Charles 12*

Cornfused 2017-04-16 14:06:26

VOR the wicket is traditionally flat ? Let's see how this goes

voiceofreason 2017-04-16 14:15:06

In reply to Cornfused

Traditionally flat of course. Windwards just compiled 500 plus vs a better Leewards attack on the same track two weeks ago. Ambris scored a double ton. It was a dumb decision to bowl first and now an already weakened team now has to bat after chasing leather for the worse part of a day and half. They will struggle to post a good score against a goodish Trini attack.

Cariah made a double on you.?

Doh let VOR tie u up, they really only got 1 newbie thats Otto.

We have Nicholson, Jangoo, Webster and Cooper all just starting out.
Rajah and Charles also very new but they were in before they introduced this new batch without experience in the last match.

LEEWARD ISLANDS HURRICANES (from): Montcin Hodge (captain), Nkrumah Bonner, Elvin Berridge, Jason Campbell, Kacey Carty, Jaeel Clarke, Chesney Hughes, Jeremiah Louis, Jermaine Otto, Sherwyn Peters, Akeem Saunders, Jacques Taylor, Gavin Tonge

IN-Berridge, Clarke, Hughes, Peters, Saunders, Taylor, OUT-Rahkeem Cornwall, Jahmar Hamilton, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Kieran Powell, Hayden Walsh Jr

Leewards made six changes. Clarke the wicketkeeper is a 19 yr old on debut. Sherwyn Peters is playing his first game this season. Hughes and Taylor are returning after being dropped in the first round. Campbell, Carty, Otto and Saunders have played less than 20 fc matches combined between them.

Andy99 2017-04-16 15:50:59

In reply to voiceofreason

This fucker talking about players on the bench, Clarke isn't in the playing XI.

This is Carty's 9th match, he played 3 matches last season and this is his 6 this season. So he has been around the team! Had a ton in the last match I think.

As I said Otto is new. His 4th match here.

This is Saunders 12th match, he dating back to quite 2013, this his is 4th of the season.

Campbell is a hard back 31 year old who is playing his 5th FC match, his debut dating back to 2012.

Taylor is playing his 21st match, this is his third of the season.

Peters is indeed playing his first match of the season but his 17th overall. Debut in 2011.

9 + 4 + 12 + 5 = 30
Even if u minus this match that 26.

Andy99 2017-04-16 15:53:50

As far as ages go

Carty - 20
Otto - 25
Saunders - 22
Campbell - 31
Taylor - 28
Peters 26

Andy99 2017-04-16 16:02:08

TNT.

Primus - 21, FC debut this season, 7 match this season.

Jangoo - 19, FC debut in the last round, this is his 2nd match.

Rajah - 23, FC debut this season, this is his 8th match.

Cooper - 26, FC debut in the last round, this is his 2nd match.

Charles - 21, FC debut in 2015, this is his 6th match.

Webster - Age unknown but Im sure he's under 23 because he was playing school boy cricket 5 years ago, FC debut in the last round, this is his 2nd match.

Nicolson - 23, FC debut in the last round, this is hist 2nd match.

First match of the season apart from that he plays schoolboy cricket in St. Maarten.

This is Carty's 9th match, he played 3 matches last season and this is his 6 this season. So he has been around the team! Had a ton in the last match I think.

He is 20 years old and 9 matches spread over 2 years. He was dropped until he was brought back two games ago where he got that ton.

This is Saunders 12th match, he dating back to quite 2013, this his is 4th of the season.

Saunders returning from a drop as well thi season.

Campbell is a hard back 31 year old who is playing his 5th FC match, his debut dating back to 2012.

Seriously you cannot be this dunce. FC experience? I don't care if he is 50.

Again I cannot blame the players as they are being recycled because of the failure of our home board to organize a proper tournament in over 3 years. That tournament can be used to identify new talent but instead we keep reycling the same mediocre players.

mikesiva 2017-04-17 10:14:30

#LIHvTRF: WICKET: Leewards 137/1 (44.6 ovs) Hughes 71 goes back to one that keeps low and is a goner. Carty comes out to join Hodge 52*.

#LIHvTRF: WICKET: Hodge 64 gets one that bounces & turns. Snapped up by Webster at short-leg. Leewards 175/2 (60 ovs) Bonner joins Carty 25.

I am not an Imran Khan fan.....in that I don't believe he is an international class bowler.

That said..I believe he's been very consistent in FC cricket so well done to him.

granite 2017-04-19 04:44:40

No one seems to have mentioned Y.Cariah,he hasn't done badly at all,and almost a double century with some wickets here and there,he seems to be doing what was always expected of him.I really don't know what has happened to the Ottley brothers, but they seems to have gone backwards,I hope they are resilient enough to be back next season.Credit to TTs new boys.

See what I does be talking about bro?

No one seems to have mentioned Y.Cariah

Quite a few have talked about him in the last few days.

with some wickets here and there

And this is it, u see him take 1 wicket yesterday and all of a sudden its some here and there. FACT he has only taken 1 wicket this season. In the 1 matches, he has only bowled 4 overs.

I like what I saw in this young team, keep them together for next year

Another year worth of experience and T&T cricket sits well.

Andy99 2017-04-19 10:24:13

In reply to sgtdjones

But this happens every season, u can check since around 2013 or so.
We are horrible all season long then in the last 2-3 matches we win and finish a 'respectable' 3rd or 4th place and all is forgiven so thing continue as they are.

Wouldn't rate the runs scored in this match that highly, just check the opening and 3rd wicket p'ships of Leewards, they just collapsed after.

Here and there,no big deal but a mistake all the same.

lol

Cornfused 2017-04-19 15:43:21

Noted Andy , but they should keep this team , possibly send them somewhere for practice matches . From dead last to mid table.

Flat wicket talk from page one spot up for sale .

Andy

If my memory serves me correctly

This is the first time we have had such a young team playing 4 days.

It's an improvement from past years using players that don't want to play for Bassarat.

Change is in the air, Court case around May 15th 2017.

A new administration will be in power.

Watch the different with our players then. They know Dinas will back them.

Andy99 2017-04-20 08:36:36

In reply to Cornfused

There is a decent batting core. Cariah, Rajah and Jangoo.
Richards has regressed with the ball, we need to get in some young pacers.
Pierre should be a fair chance.

Andy99 2017-04-20 08:38:01

In reply to sgtdjones

Yeah thats probably true wrt the young team.

We can hope we get the change
