Great team batting and congrats to Singh, that is what I mean about batsmen who have the ability to transition into international / test players while others given so many opportunities but yet to consistently demonstrate that they can handle test level despite their prolific regional scoring.

Roach looking really good - fast an accurate.

Joseph is struggling for line here. Quick enough, but he's all over the place! Joseph's line has improved now, but he is still too wide outside off.

Shehzad plays the ball late, and a bit across the line, but he is a clean striker of the ball.

WI needs to keep Roach in his current physical condition by not overworking him.

Reifer takes over from Joseph. Immediately starts with a good off-stump line. Length a bit short, but getting better.

Reifer's line is much better now. He's trying to get it to move back in from off to the right-hander.

Blackwood will remain in test team until he has some consistency in failure, he is has the most half centuries than any other young player and steps to to the challenge of test cricket despite his poor regional showing. He seems bored or unchallenged by regional cricket but steps up for bigger matches.

However Singh, Hetmeyer and Powell should all be included in the test squad.

Cornwall flightly nicely, on a good middle stump length and line.

Roach back. Good deliveries, but still plagued by no balls.

Dude. Blackwood is playing for Jamaica in Barbados when the Bajan West indies players opted out of the same game so it is reasonable to conclude that he did not get the call.

Cornwall causing trouble for these accomplished batsmen! Somebody will be taken at short leg soon.

Roach continues. He is stuttering a bit before delivering, but Hamilton's excellent keeping is collecting everything that strays.

Cornwall continues. The batsmen can't play him comfortably. Younis moving down the track and defending. Even a shorter one one leg gets away, because of the batsmen's entrenched defensive mindset.

Watching Cornwall bowl, you have to wonder why isn't he in the Test team yet. He's an attacking off-spinner, unlike the other WI spinners around.

Sounds like a reasonable explanation!
However he wouldn't be the first player to be dropped despite not failing, Sarwan, Nash, Deonarine, and Chanderpaul came to mind. While Tonge wasn't even given an opportunity to bowl.

Reifer switches ends, and immediately takes the edge of Younis's bat. Hamilton makes no mistake behind the stumps, and Pak are 64-3!

Hamilton took that almost in front of 1st slip.

These youngsters are looking more motivated that the Test side.

He lacks one that moves back in sharply to the right-hander. He is a very smart bowler tho, and has very good control.

He also bats smartly, and gets on with it.

I won't be surprised to see him play Test cricket.I get the impression that he will command a regular Test spot if he ever gets in.

Mayers is the most talented swing bowler in the region, in my opinion.

Reifer exceeds most others in his application tho. He is determined, and will make the most of every little bit of ability he has - unlike Mayers, and many, many other regional players.

For it would be inconceivable for you or anyone else to consider that a consistent half century scores as failure by a batsman. Especially when others are scoring significantly less!

Reifer does have a Shiv like approach, if not a Shiv like talent. Time will tell, but he has to more with the ball including a lil more pace.

Well he is one of the few all rounders who avg 40+ with the bat this season. And 30 wickets with a sub 30 bowling avg.

the other spinners against Pakistan in the ODI were non effective he is taking wickets in this warm -up game played in Ja so don't be surprised.

Gone for 22. Probably the last we will see of Hety for the next little while (before an A team tour at least). He can reflect on a pretty good season considering he's only 20, but also one of missed opportunities. I hope he is encouraged to keep working hard, stays motivated, and realize that there are times when he should buckle down and grind his runs out. He won't be able to dominate every bowler at every stage of his innings.

I will take a guess that he was caught at short leg, I think Azhar Ali fields there for Pakistan.

Runs at the right time trumps runs when nobody is looking.

Powell scores two fifties, his failures barring one innings since return are now less relevant.

Vishaul (who had a lean season, but scored a timely 100) may even be ahead of Ambris (who was consistent across formats this season, but sadly might have missed his chance in the squad because of two failures this weekend).

How do you learn to dominate the bowling if you don't practice to? Would you become a grinder and then one day magically start to dominate?

Hetmyer has the right approach and will get better in his chosen style. It is up to the selectors to value what he has to offer, now or at some other point in his career.
