Sacred or Scared Christians?

black 2017-04-17 12:22:27

My experiences with Christians are that most are not true believers, they are more scared at the prospect of going to hell, than excited to go to heaven.

Beware of the ones that say, "I have a personal relationship with God".

Bingo!! I have long released myself of such shackles,I truly pity our meek friends in their quest for eternal life, hey even if it was true who really wants to sit by the side of some entity and eternally praise him ,there are unflattering medical/clinical terms for the condition of both parties and the fundamental values of both leaves much to be desired.

And which entity powerful enough to create all this needs some mammalian validation?? Humans so fulla shit it's hilarious...

That is why many people take up religion when they are seriously ill and as they get older .To them finding God is their insurance against that hell fire, but it is not just Christians that worship out of fear of their gods.

Went to the funeral of a business acquaintance at Holy Cross. Sat in a tent outside listening to the ceremony. "***** came to me 6 months ago wanting to accept Christ as his Lord and Saviour"

Had kidney problems, heart bypass and many other complications before...wondered why he didnt accept Christ before

My experience is that the vast majority are using the particular church for some benefit - education as in free extras, health care as in the clinic and employment.

Dat Yardie proverb parson christen 'im pickney first' has real meaning.

True story - when I was a graduate student living in Mona, I noticed one of the youngsters riding up and down wid di mormons so I asked him what a worldlian like him was doing.

His response was 'Auntie Chris, I'm looking a nice scholarship to Brigham Young'. He got it - went on to his Masters, returned home and continued his 'worldlian ways'.

Every time I see him I laugh - and he laughs too. lol

People today are still using fear to get us to behave a certain way. Brilliant strategy by uneducated people of 3 thousand years ago. lol

when Lady Saw abandoned slackness and became a minister many loved it.
Few realized that she made a rational business decision.

Religion is a business

Well whether I am ridiculed for it or not, I have to say that I am a Christian and I will pray for all of you.

I make no threats, I am not after anything to be gained except salvation and I don't think I am ignorant either.

Your choice, but make sure you know what you are doing. Forever is a long on time.

Ah yes, Christian salvation. Where redemption is offered at the low price of the surrender of your critical faculties.

I never understood it.

That 10% is going straight into someone's pocket.
lol

I once heard a pastor say, "people that don't tithe are thieves".

When I was on the Guild a staff member of the Students' Union died and the Exec went to her funeral.

It was at di Hermitage Church on Mona Road below the campus.
Apparently she didn't deliver di tithes so he sure delivered.

Just as she has a meeting wid Jesus I have a meeting- cut out two verses of dat hymn and he did it with everything on the programme.
Mi seh di family was pissed.

It was quite an experience...and most of us found it very hard to keep a straight face.

Christianity by itself (worshipping Jesus/God) is not compelling enough, that's why they introduced the scare tactics of, "Hell".
