Press release for immediate dispatch:

Bridgetown, Barbados April 17, 2017.

Chairman of the West Indies Cricket Selection Panel has called for moderation and for cricket fans throughout the region to temper their new found admiration for his work in selecting the West Indies team.

He says that "there is is absolutely no policy change in team selection and the very same procedures have been executed in team selection since his elevation to the top job.

He states further that "what may have changed is the selection of the two Guyanese batsmen in the thirteen man squad announced today by the board. His says this may have contributed immensely to quelling the disaffection displayed by the South Americans in the past to the process of team selection."

Ends.

I am not pleased because Ambris deserved to prove himself in the P11 and was not considered despite his strong showing in the R4D. The man was hard done by. We are back to the small islands flying under the radar.

natty_forever 2017-04-18 06:07:18

My take is. Good thing we been cussing his raas! And we still have concerns.

NYCGURU 2017-04-18 08:56:08

In reply to sunfish

The Presidents eleven game has always been a show case game for players who are on the selectors radar.Ambris had a great opportunity to kick down the door, but failed in his one shot. The two newcomers selected in the 13, grabbed the bull by the horn and were justly rewarded. It now appear obvious that the selectors place a higher premium on runs scored against International bowlers than they do in our local competition. Do you remember a chap called Dawnley Joseph who was knocking on the door, but never got any runs in the president eleven games.

You do realise Ambris wasn't selected to play in the Presidents XI match right?

Yes Sir i am aware that he did not play in the game over the weekend. It was more than a bit surprising that he was not in eleven. Its almost as if he was on their radar, and after one failure he was off.

DIEHARD 2017-04-18 10:01:38

In reply to NYCGURU

So which "one shot" he got you referring to?

NYCGURU 2017-04-18 11:35:35

In reply to DIEHARD

He played against England on Feb 27th at Warner Park. He scored 1 from 11 deliveries batting at number 4.
