I give up on WICB

Dave Cameron...West Indies Cricket Board president
Recently, I returned from Japan via Miami and both stop overs showed how important sports is to both countries with the Olympics and World Cup Football in mind. On the other hand here in the Caribbean there’s little doubt that the people have become fed up and frustrated by the state of West Indies cricket given the severe trauma experienced over the last six months in particular. In fact, there is a view that the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is on the verge of collapsing given the lack of care for the Sport.

Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Bravo, Samuel Badree, Andre Russell, Denesh Ramdin, Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Ravi Rampaul, Dwayne Smith, Nicholas Pooran and Jerome Taylor are some of the players that have been missing from West Indies colours for many reasons, not least will be the treatment that they have experienced in the past. Some have even retired from the game at one level or another. Where else would a country allow 12 or 13 of their best players to walk away or be pushed out with making an effort to solve the problems that exist .

Andre Baptiste and other so called
Sports Journalists in the region are
partly responsibe for the state of cricket in the Region .

For many years they have been , and are silent of the Masters of
Disasters , aka the Worst International cricket Board in the
Commonwealth , aka the wICBC ;
or as they have recently declared
the CWI , aka Cricket Worst Idiots

The WICBC has been and is a Regional disaster for many years ,
but apparently Baptiste and perhapssome others are currently
experiencing a Saul on the Road to
Damascus moment .

Where the Hell was Andre et al , when the WICBC commissioned
several Reports , and bluntly refused to implement the changes recommended by those Reports , regading changes the structure of
the WICBC .

THE FREAKIG TRUTH IS THAT

SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1928 THE

PEOPLE IN THE WICBC HAVE

REFUSED TO CHANGE ITS ARCHAIC

STRUCTURE .

We are now awaiting the findings
of yet another Report that has been commissioned , this One called the Wehby Report .

I have absolutely no doubt that it
too , like the others will also share the same fate , by being also discarded by the WICBC .

Meanwhile the International CRicket
Crooks , are more interested in who should get the largest share of the
ICC's Profits .

They are of the opinion that Good
Governance , is not important in International Cricket . Sadly many
Regional Governments ; by not taking action ; share that same
opinion .

I am stil here fighting the good fight . I was away for some days , and read parts of Kevin Pietersen's Autobiography .

It certinly was interesting , with all the Back stabbing & intrigue in the ECB . I get the impression that International Cricket Boards are really Dens of Iniquity .

Unfortunately , OURS seems to be
the WORST of the Lot . Kevin does
admit that HE made mistakes , but
he does not shy away from excoriating the People in ECB and the various Cliques , hell bent on destroying him .

Although Andre's article is soft on the WICBC-his criticism does not go far enough and it is notable he stayed away from calling on CARICOM to levy economic and other sanction Antigua and for prosecution of WICBC directors and executives, he is nevertheless the least friendly journalist towards the WICBC.

The writer was making a point. Note what the conclusion is

Where else would a country allow 12 or 13 of their best players to walk away or be pushed out with making an effort to solve the problems that exist .

All of those mentioned have been in West indies cricket for years and have done nothing to change the fortunes of our cricket. They have constantly given below the kind of performances that they are capable of and yet people on here continue to ask for them. I say goodbye with Blessing and show me a new light let us see if we can build something with foundation.

The same players who went to India and striked during a tour. If you work for a company do you expect salary increases based on no performance? If you are going to strike or make a statement then why not play that tour out win it and then say now lets talk. I give them that on some days they bring excitement to any game however they are few and far in between hence most of them for the length of time they have played manage an amazing average of less than 35. How exciting for West Indian cricket. Is it our board that has kept us out of the current trophy in England?

Wake up Team before friend.

So if we are believe you, the problem with WI cricket is the players- they are not performing despite the great leadership and administration of WI cricket by the WICBC and the territory boards

Domic 2017-04-20 07:48:29

In reply to Emir

that is not exactly what i am saying. I am saying the old players that people are asking for did not start with this current board they have been here for a longtime. I am saying they go play in the IPL they do the same when required they perform. I am saying for the length of time they have been here they are no consistant at anything other that not performing. I believe that they are capable of doing better than what they have done so far but for some reason continue not to deliver and like any bad carpenter blames the tools or someone else for their performance.

We are so hell bent on the board not doing the correct thing we forget that the players are the ones who make or break us in this game. Have they been given poor coaches? then if so let us blame the board if not then lets us look at the attitude of these players. Are they well paid compared to other teams maybe not. Should we increase there pay well as the song says what have you done for me lately.

For many years I have had very little
respect for those in the Region who claim to be Sports Journalists

The only exception would be Tony
Cozier , who I did criticize at times .
My opinion is that in the Region , the Pseudo Sports Journalists in the Region , whether they like it or not are also responsible for the
current Sad ; Sorry State of Cricket in the the Region .

THEY allowed themselves to be emasculated by people in the
Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth , aka the
WICBC .
