To answer your question though, if there was a hell, if would be run by people who force their will upon others, and don't allow exploration of thought. 
In mythology, the Evil entity (in Christianity it's "Satan" or "Lucifer" or "Devil") was SENT to hell in "chains of darkness", suggesting it was a place previously created. Therefore, in christian mythology, Satan could not have created it.

There's an inherent conflict in the way Satan is viewed, if he was sent to heaven in "chains of darkness," that would suggest he is being kept in check, yet every evil, is being blamed on him. If he was sent to hell, doesn't that suggest that he is being punished? So, why is he still able to operate with impunity?
