Khaga 2017-04-24 15:50:55

Doesn't he already have the most 100s for a bowler?

Has Bishoo's bowling got better over the years, what about variety?

No to both. I would bring back Benn.....

Is Miller not available?

granite 2017-04-24 17:09:37

Wrist spinners usually go for that kind ah runs after bowling 30 odd overs, sub continent batsmen are usually very good at playing spin.

Especially the ones that lack variety.

If Bishoo was a batsman he would a been better than Bradman!!

I don't ever believe anything you say, but this time I'll make an exception.

Bishoo is a better cricketer than Travis Dowlin and Devon Smith combined.

West Indian Spinners are no good and will not make the cut at the test level

which wi fastbowler has produced more than Bishoo in tests in since Bishoo came on the scene?

googley 2017-04-25 15:40:52

In reply to doosra

WI want pace like fiah! But most of the wickets are prepared rather curry like! lol lol

hawk 2017-04-25 15:41:02

In reply to doosra

I would take my chances with fast bowlers 10 times before i do with a spinner from the West Indies
that is just my opinion

doosra 2017-04-25 15:46:46

In reply to hawk

because why?

Bishoo just had 18 wickets ina test series in sharjah

he was the main reason we remained competitive and actually won a test

u entitled to an opinion, like others

is unnu pace like fyah attitude partly why we hay big grin

hawk 2017-04-25 15:55:32

In reply to doosra

ever so often a spinner will shine, the problem i have is that it is not consistent enough at the test level, i grew up in the 80s and I was all about the fast bowling (my personal bias) but that aside our spinners just don't cut it at the international level and that is a fact. Bishoo has been the closest article since Lance Gibbs and he lacks consistent performances to be considered world class

googley 2017-04-25 15:57:04

In reply to hawk

can you put down some names as possible replacement for Bishoo?

hawk 2017-04-25 16:16:04

In reply to googley

let me clear the air first i am not advocating we replace Bishoo, i am just stating my preference for our bowling options but if i was to replace him then
Reifer, thought of him immediately,
would even consider Cornwall....he bats and can bring him arm over quite well

amazing!! Picking on the chap with some sort of decent returns with ball and bat, given the context of this team's performance! Might as well drop Holder as he is showing up the batsmen as well!

camos 2017-04-25 16:49:23

it does not help that he does not have skipper.

So you would rather have A 4 prong pace attack with Gabriel, Al-Jo, Big-Jase and Reifer? Leaving the spin duties to be for Chase and Kraigg?

hawk 2017-04-25 20:16:44

In reply to CricketLuva4

Exactly......i think we would be better serve with that attack

I might agree with you if we played in either England (Early season)/NZ/RSA, where a spinner's role is to keep an end tight and rotate the quicks.

In these conditions a spinner is necessary, and if you look at our most recent test wins, a spinner has often taken a decent portion of wickets.

Whether Bishoo is the right spinner or not is another debate entirely. But he's earned his spot based on his showing in the UAE.

The 4th innings of this game was a good chance to see if Bishoo could bowl us to a victory or at least give us a few wkts, but we only had 30 runs to defend (Not his fault).

hawk 2017-04-26 21:58:30

In reply to CricketLuva4

Bishoo has a right to be there based on performances, but he won't win games for us consistently, this is not a matter of fault.

Yet Windies cricket producing more spinners than any other type of bowler.

Is there a disconnect?

Scar 2017-04-26 23:54:56

In reply to ProWI

What do you mean by producing? big grin A factory can produce a product that sells or ... well you know! Benn with all his long fingers and self didnt turn it much, didnt bounce it as much as expected, and frightened no one. Narine in his prime didnt get much in Tests after England showed how to push him to different parts, Bishoo for wrist spinnnwr is scared to bowl googleys or flippers it appears. Chase is a Hooper tyoe rest others spinner, the list goes on.

CricketLuva4 2017-04-27 06:25:59

In reply to hawk

Spinners and bowlers in general need runs on the board to win games.

isn't this part of the problem???
producing these type of bowlers that can't get anyone out at the Test level, more often than not they figures are 27-2-100+-0
