They haven't listed their squad yet because of a money cut from the ICC. Not sure if this means that they will withdraw or if that is premature thinking on Silver's behalf.

It's certainly a possibility. In fact, I would say 100% sure this may happen.

According to a BCCI official, the delay was inevitable. With the BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhury and CEO Rahul Johri attending the ICC meetings this week, and captain Virat Kohli playing the IPL, all concerned parties couldn't be in one place at the same time to pick the squad.

"We have told the ICC the reason behind the delay," the official told ESPNcricinfo. "We have told them we will announce it soon."

This is just a big bluff by the BCCI bunch of crybabies.

WE want more money or we taking our cricket bat and not playing.

Trump syndrome.

Is America bigger than the world? Is India bigger than cricket?

When all the big sponsors withdraw because India not there and ICC get no money, then we will see if India is bigger than cricket. You never know if there is a clause in a sponsor's contract that says India must play.

A clause as you describe is unlikely IMO, because where do you draw the line? If India get knocked out early and most of the Indian viewers chune out, the ICC will have no choice but to live with the ramifications of them losing. They've already shown that they are willing to not hand them everything on a platter as shown by this entire situation.

At the same time I'm sure the ICC knows the importance of keeping their cash cow satisfied. It's really boiling down to a mind game. As it is, India are due to list a squad after the ICC board meeting on the 27th.
