Taylor is at the back end of his career and should have played. We need to capitalize on his experience and use what he has left. Joseph is clearly not ready and like others in the past Bishoo and the captain and are some of a plethora of players the previous 10-15 years that we have played too early. We keep doing the same thing and expect different results everytime. WIBC are a colossal failure.

Taylor should played in the first test
In reply to leman
Of all the new players that are in the WI team, Joseph has been the one player most people have no complaints about and potentially he seem to be a star in the making. Taylor is close to done internationally
In reply to dayne... so we would play both.
Taylor ahead of Joseph? Our most promising fast bowler in years?
Yall gotta be joking... ah guess the retirement thing didn't work for him..
Taylor ahead of Holder

May I ask a few questions?
1. "We need to capitalize on his experience and use what he has left."
Re his experience, coming out of retirement would not have been a wake up in the morning and decide to come out of retirement. When did he notify the JCA/WICB he is ready to play?
How many matches did he play to show he is ready?
Suppose WICB had select him and he bowled five overs and break down, would u cuss the WICB to select a man who hasn't play 1st class cricket for x amount of time and select him to play in a test?
2. "Taylor is at the back end of his career and should have played." Why? How ready was he? How did u know? Joseph took three wickets. Why should Taylor, a retiree play before joseph?

when was the last time Taylor got a wicket
In hindsight...Taylor could have played at Sabina
He always seems to do well on his home ground. Hence the nickname "tailor made"
However, to be consistent, you would also have to drop him the very next match...even if he took all 10 wickets in one innings for spit.
Again in hindsight, Blackwood should also have been in the starting XI
BUT
Perhaps Coach Law is rewarding performance with selection
And before allyuh jump all over me bout Hope.....didn't he make runs in the regional PCL this season?
If this is indeed coach Law's approach....time will tell how consistent it is. But yuh cyah vex with it....IF that is indeed the criteria.

Walk in the team?......just like that?
You got to be kidding.
after that effort or lack of it in Australia I can't support a call for Taylor
So the lone bright light we have should be replaced by a faded star?
Whatever Pakistan couldn't do to damage his confidence, you all will finish the job.

Man you mad or what. If anything, they should've played Joseph earlier. He has been our best new prospect in years. Taylor shouldn't have retired so prematurely in the first place. But they told him he needed to show match fitness and it hurt his feelings and he quit. Well guess what, he still has to show match fitness before he can get selected. It's not personal. This is test cricket, not a pickup game.
