Watching the Paint dry....

Trex 2017-05-02 19:28:44

I thought by now this young man would have learnt how to at least rotate the strike.

8 from 46 balls....??

Were the Pakistanis were bowling hand grenades?

Gun_Play 2017-05-02 19:31:46

In reply to Trex

46 balls the other players in the pavillion

didn't have to face before end of play.

That was needed.

Sometimes context is missing for these chaps. They want pow pow. Lol

Please let the paint dry in peace. We need two coats.

imusic 2017-05-02 19:33:27

True...it was needed

Problem is...he cannot play any other way....regardless of circumstance

Please don't imply that Paint is a great Night watchman.

That is a disrespectful comment about any batsman.....especially an opener.

Paint always bat this way...context or no context

Then next time they whould open with Gabriel and Bishoo... lol

imusic 2017-05-02 19:36:32

In reply to Trex

Gabriel bats with a donut

Trex 2017-05-02 19:41:56

In reply to imusic

I know. Gabriel is the perfect number 11 batsman. Happy to see he got some wickets.

If Paint could have scored 10 more runs I would have no quarrel. My point is why bat for hrs if you not scoring runs. It is sad to see that Paint has not grasped the idea of scoring runs.

Gun_Play 2017-05-02 19:48:48

In reply to Trex

The whole point of that session's play was to come back tomorrow.

So he could have faced 46 balls for one run that
would have been great as well.

Criticism is good if it's constructive but in this case it makes no sense.

The objective was to be batting again tomorrow... and that's what he did.

analyst-kid 2017-05-02 19:50:55

Is it Kraigg batting slow or is it a batsman out of form fighting his way back to form?
I remember once listening to Kallicharan batting for an hour and only scoring 1 run.

Unfortunately, he plays exactly the same way in limited overs cricket, before lunch, after lunch, before tea, after tea, in test and 4 day cricket.

If is the latter...then he never in form.

That said....IN THIS CASE...as previously stated...it was needed. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Gun_Play 2017-05-02 19:55:48

In reply to imusic

Unfortunately.

But.... in this instance it was NEEDED.

That's all I'm saying.

Hopefully he can get a big score no matter how long it takes.

That should put us in a position to win or draw this match.

hawk 2017-05-02 20:04:12

In reply to analyst-kid

he is clearly enduring a poor run and i think some serious time at the crease would go along way to him getting productive again, he gets a lot of criticism on this MB, but he is the most productive we have at the moment i wish him a long stay at the crease tomorrow, not only for his sake but for us

we can win this match is two guys get big 100s tomorrow

runout 2017-05-02 20:13:16

Not mistaking that. To criticize him in this match, this innings late into the third day's play, in this specific context is to miss the whole point of batsmanship, application and game awareness

The longer it took Pakistan to score....the less likely it is that they would win the match....which is good for west indies.

Why criticize the opposition when they doing you a favor? Eh Bozo?

Not true. Chrissy did start a thread saying Azhar slower than Ganga....smile

Trex 2017-05-02 20:24:26

Sad to see the bajans have to defend how slow the Paint dries...

especially since they have produced the likes of Greenidge and Haynes

hawk 2017-05-02 20:25:44

Agreed...Pakistan was crawling along at tortoise pace.

runout 2017-05-02 20:28:39

Dude chill. The man is batting. I would rather see him bat the next two days at this pace than to see him sit in the pavilion.

The great Pak batsman batter 2 hours for 8 runs and look wha happen. They almost grind WI into the ground. Let KB employ the same methodology anchor away.

Norm 2017-05-02 21:16:36

I wouldn't mind watching Paint dry all day tomorrow - even if he defends every ball. The man earned his keep many times over already.

He doesn't need validation from any online cricket guru!

Fahim 2017-05-02 21:20:02

Not the most pleasing on the eye. But WI need someone who can stick around at the top.

We are not fortunate enough to drop players who show fight but don't quite have the gift of pure talent. The team must have variety to grow.

Maybe in time KB will learn to trust himself more and keep strike rate closer to 50 than to 30.

matchstick 2017-05-02 23:30:09

Good to see a player who failed in 3 consecutive innings dig in deep and fight for himself and his country!

Bat on Paint!

dayne 2017-05-03 08:19:36

Kraigg was being smart the way he batted last evening, why are people complaining?

Amen to that Sir. I am looking forward and hoping that he paints for the entire days play.

natty_forever 2017-05-03 08:57:48

... and if he doesn't?

runout 2017-05-03 11:21:58

Some people should just shut the hell up!!! Enough of these know-alls pontificating on who does what and how.

Just shut up! Enough!!!!

Bat on WI...bat on KB.

Larr Pullo 2017-05-03 11:25:39

Trex?

granite 2017-05-03 11:54:48

I don't care how fast KB scores,as long as he occupies the crease, mek im stay deh till marnin come.

Maispwi 2017-05-03 17:34:15

When there is plenty time left in a game, occupying the crease without scoring can be a double edged sword. Often times the team ends up with 20 or 30 runs short and loads of time left in the game

Hopefully Gabriel will knock over the last Pakistani wickets... cool

mikesiva 2017-05-14 10:28:31

Kraigg has had a terrible series...0, 14, 9, 43, 29, 6.

Not one half-century. Just like his opening partner, Powell.
