On a nasty wicket where nuhbody was at ease he played match winning 90...dat is class and that is why I said I got nuff time fuh Hope...this is a great investment.

Develop Hetmyer and Hope and Windies will have a potent batting line up.

The kid came to mind when he made 3 tons in succession in u19 tournament, the next instance was when he played an ondrive off of Jerome Taylor, it was pure Seymour.
let's hope he continues.

Saw all three innings and knew it was just a matter of time. Told Oilah bout him when I got back to Florida. Have been able to get down to Bim when most of the U19 stuff goes on and watch as much as I can while there. Only a couple weeks ago I say a little left arm fastbowler from Foundation School. Nuff swing.

you watch these guys develop from u19, you know these players from youth days, not like most of us who only reads about them.

I regret that Brooks, Corbin or Boucher have not developed since they were 3 of our best talents.

But imagined if CB had not sustained those 2 injuries, WI would be further along.

Been calling for the youths to lead for a while now. Glad some people decided to move forward with it.

Yep. I am hoping they persist with Hety too. The slight imperfections here and there in most of our young batsmen are not insurmountable.

Aljo impressed me in the first innings as well. With a good head on his shoulder he will get there soon.

I did not see his second innings bowling.

Corbin and Boucher too much into pleasing the crowd. Never thought they had a chance in the longer game. Brooks was different. Thought his bowling was poor but he liked doing it. Should have focused on his batting from back then. Maybe he would have been here already. Liked Lewis a lot also.

Listen the talent is there. Not a bunch of hit or miss crowd pleasers as before. Youths are way more focused on the work at hand. Holder and KB are very level headed youths from what I see. They work well TOGETHER!

Absolutely. And the job will be made easier with the focus on early cricket.

it is not opening.

I still got Hope fuh Brooks...there is still room in this developing West Indian batting line up. Make nuff runs and you in de mix.

I was not a fan of Brooks after his last U-19 WC, did not see anything in his batting
Here is why
Shamar Brooks BCA batting stats

The best batsman in bim is Kyle Hope, he had his first full season at the regional level, watch out for him next year.

This BCA season, I would like to see Kyle Mayers, Primus, Springer, Reifer and Greaves, batting at #4 or #5 for their clubs in the three day format.

Let's not get too excited...it's good that Hope has finally hit his first Test half-century in 17 innings, but we need to "hope" that Shai can use that innings to keep moving upwards. Will he move upwards, or will he follow this up with two failures in Dominica? We will soon find out....

Before this Test, Shai's Test average was 15...now it's 19. It's going in the right direction, but there's still more work to be done.

While I admire your sense of nationalism and understand your focus on B'jan only players but let me remind you that there are also other talented young cricketers throughout the region. We are trying to rebuild a WI team not a B'jan team, widen your perspective by looking for other young players from other islands while naturally supporting your B'jans youths.

No doubt there is work to be done. But steps cannot be ignored or credit given. This is a very young bunch and will need the support as they grow. We did mention Hetty and Lewis and will others. Like I said grow together.

When was the last time WI win 2 out of 3 test matches against a world class side?

I guess he's back to normal now. After 19 Test innings, he has only one half-century. How much did he average in this series?

I see little to celebrate right now, where Shai is concerned. He only looks like a giant because he's among pygmies.

Shai 2, 6, 5, 90, 29, 17. Just one half-century in six innings.

Shai only looks good, because at least he scored one half-century. In comparison, Kraigg, Powell and Hetmyer have failed to score a single half-century between them!

Look wha' we come to, eh?
