What's in a name.

If Tanya Stephens spelt the name of her song slightly different, back in 1997 (a full year before Google was formed) - google may have had to settle with her years later.
(day off work ok, pure idleness)

So we have Goggle, released in 1997.
We have Google: launched in 1998 but was originally to be called... wait for it.... "BackRub". No joke. They ended up with Google by way of unintentenially mis-spelling googol (the number 1 followed by 100 zeros)....

The song Goggle was written in early 1997 (by Steven "Lenky" Marsden) - the actual domain name for Google was registered on September 15, 1997
