Reggae crooner George Nooks has been arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, law enforcement sources have revealed.

Police sources say the 56-year-old entertainer was arrested in St Andrew yesterday after a plastic bag with a small quantity of white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, was found in his 2016 Mercedes Benz sport utility vehicle.

The God is Standing By hitmaker was charged with possession of cocaine and offered bail in the sum of $80,000. He is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on May 17.

According to sources, he was taken to the Duhaney Park Police Station, where the plastic bag containing the white powdery susbstance(sic) was reportedly sealed and labelled "in his presence and view."
