He's young and positive.. we have something to work with here. If we can get one of our great batsmen to work with him I can see this kid doing pretty well

I like what I saw of Hetmyer

Bro...you seriously don't think that the coaches and the batsmen are pointing out what we are seeing? And he seems a bit too gung-h for batting that early...no, they should demote him say 5, or keep him in the squad until he work his flaws out.
He is fully aware that his position is in jeopardy. And then he goes and throws caution to the wind. Cannot do that at this level. No matter how good you are, you have to apply yourself to game situ. I hope he comes good second innings for his own good.
Age cannot be an excuse. He lacks application for this type of game.

what's KB's excuse?

He has run out of excuses...and execution!

Lets see if Vishal Singh can fix his flaws...otherwise it is sayonara. And no one to blame but themselves. Enough half-baked....

plenty half baked overall....

I don't think it's fully kb's fault that he cannot bat

Well that sums up the state of our cricket,he is now considered our rock and number one opener. I dont envy the selectors in the region as this is a tough lot to pick from.

Well he has attributes.
He can concentrate for long periods
He plays carefully
He is disciplined and dedicated
Those are desired qualities for the long form of the game. The first 2 in particular
But....you still have to be able to bat
He is not ready fuh this level yet sah

If you like what you saw of Hetty I bet you are one of those legendary 40 second men.

AGREE 100%...
Kid will come good. With all the slow strikers we have at the top, it's better to persist with Hety for another few tests.
Technique is there. Mindset is not. But he is 20. Easier to teach mental side than to teach technique.

Boss I'm simply giving my opinion. Yes he's not completely ready but I liked his attitude. I would keep him in the team he can only learn with more experience.

Obviously you don't like the young guy because of his aggressive approach. But that's isn't a bad thing, he just needs to be selective and temper his aggression. I guarantee you once this kid learns that he'll be a good player. Everyone doesn't have to poke a good test innings sir.
Hetmyer got selected too early to Test cricket, the Selectors are out of much options, but either Mohammed or Blackwood should have been in the final eleven in this series. Hetmyer or Singh could have been selected in the squad of 13 to at first practice and get introduce to the atmosphere of the higher level of cricket.
will go to England, needs scores in tour games to get selected but wether its now or in a year or two he looks a talented player.
I also think Hope is a talent, needs perservering with... i really dont get the hate on here for young players.
REALITY...de cupboard bare...you go with best young talent you have...work with Hetmyer he is one of the best young talents we have.
