ONE man cannot win this for WI

Maan....alyuh following cricket for long....come on /alyuh could do better....ONE man?

ALL man jack have to bat and contribute....only way we can win or save the game

West Indies require another 297 runs with 9 wickets remaining

That is saveable or gettable

WE chased down 418 to win before....still a world record...Lara made 60, Shiv and Sarwan tons, AND Omari Banks 47 and Vashbert Drakes 27 brought it home with a 46 run partnership

Last night I was at a party with good friends. One brethren suggested we needed another 200 runs. I told him we'd be all out an hour after di start. I wasn't far off.

everybody contributes but one man is the headliner. Sarwan was the headliner of that chase. Lara was the headliner of the chase in Bridgetown.

In reply to methodic

Sarwan was the headliner of that chase

why do you choose Sarwan?

methodic 2017-05-13 20:14:07

In reply to Narper

because he stood up to the team's best bowler and let him know we were not backing down. He backed it up by scoring a century and this gave the whole team confidence especially the lower order batsmen.

Narper 2017-05-13 20:22:06

In reply to methodic

So because Sarwan cuss out McGrath he was the man who carried the win?

Chanderpaul made a ton and was the last genuine BATSMAN out

He shared an 84 run partnership with Banks...a bowler

Wish shiv was playing.
I actually wish Blackwood was playing.
This 2 runs an over stuff won't do. 2 runs an over is fine
if you're putting up big scores.

I seldom, if ever speak in a vacuum. If you study the nature of things you would understand what I am talking about. In the animal kingdom for one specie to dominate over the other the leader must be present and successful in his battle. In sports when the emotional leader of a team performance matches his emotional display the entire team's performance is lifted. If Sarwan was bowled the very next ball after clashing with Mcgrath, chances are the West Indies would have lost. If you take your mind back to Kensington oval game in which Lara scored 153, you would remember that Lara and Mcgrath also had a spat. Lara stood up with bat and mind. If he did not West Indies would have lost.
West Indies went for 15 years without losing a test series. Before that run started West Indies lost a controversial series in New Zealand. The umpires cheated them, they were fed bad food, but none of these were the main reason they lost. They lost because their emotional leader was absent. Viv Richards missed the tour.
How many times was Chanderpaul not out or scored a hundred in a West Indies chase. He did this many times. How many times West Indies won? Once or twice. Chanderpaul contributed heavily but he was never an emotional leader. That day in Antigua Sarwan stood up and inspired other West Indians.

With Joseph and Gabriel at # 10 and 11 we are already 3 wickets down. So i'm not sure about this ALL man jack ting.
