HETY: Bowled Again

thefacts 2017-05-14 10:51:44

This is beyond stupid.

In 6 Test Innings…. Hetmyer has been bowled 4 times.

That must be some kind of record.

big grin

True.

I wish this kid well. He is really young.

and he is not ready for Test Cricket.

I just hope he is not left in the deep end and is pulled back right now.

It will help this kid if he can spend a couple of seasons in domestic cricket and tighten up his game.

Make this kid part of all A-games and tour matches. maybe give him some ODI and T20 cricket.

But he just doesn't have the defence for Test cricket, let alone batting at no.3

I ain't seen him bat yet, but I bet there's a big gap between bat and pad when he drives.

Just from reading cricinfo a few times during this series, I can tell that he doesn't know when Aamir is setting him up.

They fed him to the lions I said so from day one. Who the fcuk debuts a 20 year old kid at #3? Not as if he was some kinda run making child prodigy like Sachin etc

thefacts 2017-05-14 10:58:36

And mind you these are pretty good conditions for batting.

Hardly any swing or bad bounce from the pitch.

Yet Hety failed to get behind the ball.

Its not his fault, such short comings don't get exposed in domestic cricket, esp WI domestic cricket.

I hope he is bright enough to learn and not be arrogant and stick to his ways

Spot on, the mediocre FC set up will not help him. He better get the hell out of the WI if he wants to develop his batting.

i said it on Test.1, Innings.1 -- on first view of Hetmyer's technique, that the ball coming in will SORT him out.

How unfortunately, that Prophecy has come to be 100% True.

It's a combination of Cameron and his selectors' fault.

The selectors picked the team expecting the usual interference from Cameron (to get his countryman Blackwood in the final 11), but only to be disappointed by the BIG IDIOT's leaving them hanging out to dry.

They'll do better next time.

that does not matter if he does connect!

Please remind me, when has Cameron ever advocated for any Jamaican to be in the West Indies Team?

Did he agitate for fairness for Gayle when he was being victimized by H&H for 18 months?

Did he utter a word of support for Taylor when Hilaire was maligning him?

Has he ever said one word about Miller the leading bowler in our FC cricket for several season only given a single test in all that time?

Yes it matters.... ! the front foot position dictates where head is. If his head is not in line with the ball, the batsman will not see the last minute deviations.. That's how they end up edging the ball on to the stumps or caught off the outside edge...

The Third Straight Drive off Merv Hughes and Fourth off Damien Fleming are both EPIC and the answer to your confusion

Later the drives off Shaun Pollock are great examples too...

Now go watch and learn something for a change
