The young batsmen are certainly talented but struggle too much even to score 50+, hence the need for an experienced player or two into to stablize our top order. An experienced player role would be to establish partnerships with the younger batsmen, mentoring them on the field and supporting them during each partnership. As I am writing this post, I saw the wickets of Hety scattered, hence supporting my point that the youngsters need some type of leadership on the field, obviously coaching is not helping them to develop.

Experienced players who could support the young players include:
1. The Shiv - Still the best batsman in the region, who better to support the youths.
2. Bravo Jr - WICB needs to make quickly with him, let's face it we desperately need him.
3. Controversial Marlon Samuels - Might surprise everyone and shed his independent spirit by playing a supportive role with the youths.
4. Any of Bravo Sr; Pollard; or Simmonds could play a supportive role for our young batsmen.

This batting line-up is so inexperienced, that right now even Blackwood looks experienced, compared to them....

Lil Bravo at 3
JMo at 4

Jerome Taylor & Sunil Narine in the mix. Maybe not automatic picks, but have them in the squad.

Let's be honest with ourselves, let's put aside insularity in the best interest of WI cricket. On a day when we really needed our batsmen to stay at the wicket for a long time and to bat intelligently, we saw that both Kraigg and Hety going after big shots which demonstrated that our young batsmen have not yet developed as how to adjust to prevailing match situations and temper the urge for big shots, and to develop long partnerships.

The player that is missing from this team is Darren, Shiv batting at five, will bring the same results as it did for the last decade.

You are certainly disingenuous if you think that both Shiv and Bravo, etc. were not more runs scorers and by virtue more competitive than these youngsters.

I see not reason as to why JoMo at least not in the squad, he is currently our most in form batsman.

Just looking at the faces of the Dominican supporters at the match illustrates how much the mighty WI has fallen, supporters seem pensive and certainly unenthusiastic about the match at this time, maybe Chase could punch some excitement in the match.

Mohammed and Blackwood should've played all 3 matches

Yall want experience players and picking Mohammed and Lewis? How many test matches them fellas play?

When last Narine bowled more than 4 overs in a match?

Joseph and Gabriel failing? Why do they need Taylor? The franchise world didn't work out so he trying to make a return all of a sudden?

Shiv was pushed out too early, now we are seeing the folly of that.
Darren Bravo with Shiv and Hope, Kraigg, Chase, Blackwood and Dowrich batting around would have been ideal. But we have concrete head folks as strategists in the WICB setup

There goes Hope again, certainly very talented but in my opinion forced into the squad much too early, hard to learn on the field in a test match especially with inadequate coaching, yet I do not blame the coaches, I blame the selectors.

One has to think of team, and what the best batting position for a young team.
With Bravo at three, Samuels at four and Shiv at five, the number of times, Shiv ended up batting with the tail, just too much to mention.
It was okay for him at five, when Gayle and Lara was in the team, but a Sheperd has to take charge of his sheep, he cannot allow them to find their way home.
Shiv's batting position after Lara retired was #4, he could then guide the young openers ,#3 and the #5.

Hence my premise that we need that Shiv-like leadership in this current team of young players, to mentor them on the field and establishing long partnerships with them.

The only person this teams needs is Darren Bravo at number 3, in spite of what people are saying, the team has advance, Chase has solidified his spot, Holder's batting is great
other areas needs to be addressed but i am not about to call for wholesale changes, it is good core to build on

I have not seen anyone requesting a wholesale change just the top order, why state the obvious that we already know that both Chase and Holder solidify their positions on the team. The top order is our major problem and changes need to be made if we are ever going to be competitive.

Dowrich has been pretty ordinary as well.I used to think he was a man for these pressure situations

I don't know the problem with him for he was always the player perfectly suited pressure conditions as you emphasized, strange series for both Kraigg and Dowrich.

Bring back the Shiv.
