Is now the second highest ranked West Indian Bowler at 26th in the latest ICC rankings. He is behind Gabriel at 19th.

Bishoo actually improved in the rankings after this series. Go figure.

What people have to understand is that Bishoo was picked primarily as a bowler in a team whose bowling is in the developmental phase, and in his capacity he has delivered...perhaps he is not as skillful as his counterparts, he is not as sexy as others, but in his own way he delivers, be it long hop, full toss or a ripper. Perhaps he goes for a 100 more often than we would like. (But look at the spinners who bowls lengthy spells...they almost always goes for runs) And maybe he should have taken more wickets than he is taking. But you cannot deny that he is the best option we have as a leg spinner. And he is a specialist night watchman. Plus he gives this place a lot to chatter about. Now that is invaluable.

The selectors, the coaches, and the opposition attest to his place in the team. Nuff said.

His figures would have been a whole lot better if those drop catches were taken rolleyes

dude, Bishoo was named emerging player of the year in 2011 by the ICC. He took 21 test wicket mid 2010 to mid 2011, and 19 ODI wickets.

what happened after that? As soon as his performance dropped a little, he was sent packing...and as typical, no support from WICB.

What kind of support should he have received?

Please be as specific as possible

Thanks

Bishoo has a history of finger problems and that hurt his performance. He will no longer be bowling very long spells or 50 overs per innings like other spinners.

Windies2017 2017-05-18 20:30:52

poor bishoo can never catch a break

Master_Blaster 2017-05-18 22:32:00

2.2 wickets per inning
just over 3 runs per over
just over 36 runs per wicket

I say drop the facker, WI have tons better than him!

He still remains the current WI highest wicket taker and highest wicket taker per match, even if his performance might have "dropped a little". Fortunately, the opinion of the current WI selectors is the one that really matters.

The WI fans, however, are a different matter. Many see Bishoo primarily as Indo, and therefore a ready target for ridicule, etc - regarless of performance. It is amazing how the Bishoo haters are also Shiv haters, etc!
