Monday, May 8, we learned that President Obama warned Trump not to hire Michael Flynn as national security adviser; that after Trump hired Flynn, he never got the security clearance required for his job; and that, 18 days before Flynn resigned, Sally Yates warned the White House that he “could be blackmailed by the Russians.”

•Tuesday, May 9, Trump fired James Comey as FBI director, with a termination letter that praised Comey for not investigating Trump. Somehow, it came as a surprise to Trump and his people that this was controversial.

•Wednesday, May 10, as Trump’s staff offered up various lies and about-faces on Comey’s firing, Trump grinned and chatted with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador, an event that no U.S. reporters were allowed to witness, but of which Russian media quickly released images.

•Thursday, May 11, the White House was whining about that Russian photographer, who they apparently hadn’t vetted enough to realize worked for the Tass news agency, while the world was laughing/being horrified at Trump’s claim that he invented the expression “prime the pump.” But that was quickly overshadowed by Trump's admission that yes, he did ask Comey if he was under investigation and that he’d been thinking about the Russia investigation at the time he decided to fire Comey.

•Friday, May 12, Trump tweets that “James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!” The White House then repeatedly refuses to answer questions about whether Trump’s conversations are being recorded.

•Saturday, May 13, Trump is reportedly considering a major staff shake-up, like any of this is his staff’s fault. In an interview that airs on Fox News, he says he doesn't think it would be inappropriate to ask the FBI director for loyalty. Though Trump denies having asked that, this is a big red flag that he totally did.
•Sunday, May 14. And on the seventh day, he golfed. While his wife spent Mother’s Day with their son.

•Monday, May 15, the Washington Post, followed by other outlets, reports that Trump passed along classified information at that meeting with the Russians. Top advisers then claim that the reporting is false while carefully saying Trump did not do completely different things than he reportedly did.
•Tuesday, May 16, Trump tweets that yes he did give classified information to Russia and he stands by that decision.
