Freddie Kissoon is your source of objectivity. Slow day uncle?
Someone needs another bucket of feces for him.
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Beta, did you see me comment? I just post the damn article for comments- good, bad or indifferent
How do you subscribe he is my "source of objectivity."
In reply to Emir
you posted it.
In reply to Emir
Freddie sounds like he self hates, to broadly categorize a group of people. Spoils of racial politics.
In reply to Curtis
He was pretty harsh and the article lacks intellectual thought.
What do larr and narper think?

Have they been subjected to Pakistan Lane humility?
In reply to Emir
Is it accurate to say "Guyanese Indians" and "Indian Guyanese" are the same or is one from India and the other from Guyana??
In reply to DAVE400
I think it is fair if we hear from people like:
Admin
deanjones
Runs
larr
Chrissy
Dukes
These folks really have their fingers on the pulse of what is (or has been) going or in Guyana. I cannot speak objectively enough about this experience since I had left GT as a child (Runs can attest to this) so my comments may be slightly jaded.
Let's hear it from GT peeps who either have ears on the ground or have people who might have experienced whatever in the past.
What did Indo Guyanese do to Afro Guyanese, and what did Afro Guyanese do to Indo Guyanese?
Let's clear this up once and for all.
Do Indo-Guyanese perceive Afro-Guyanese any differently than how most races view black people?
In reply to Emir
Labelling all Guyanese Indians as the worst of the worst...
Kinda a racist isn't it.
I absolutely love and respect the Obamas. I know my dad loved and admired Ali. My cricketing heroes were Richards, Rowe and Roberts...
Guess what. I live in Toronto in an area mostly populated by Indians and who has been elected for the past 15 years..Black Women.. Margaret Best and Mitzie Hunter.
In reply to Emir
Freddie is partially right. But he shouldn't based his conclusions on his age group.
I am indian - and any muddie who seems to have experience and recollection of 1960's is racially influence. I was in the late 70's and none of that mattered but it always dem older folks pushing this crap around.
Secondly, I work with real "outsources" and unless he did something similar he shouldn't be saying what his narcissistic beaver tooth is venting.
Freddie is more wrong than right. Just my piece.

I expected you to show up with your "tail between your legs" credentials..
In reply to tigga
You are caught between African Guyanese and real Indians, you tortured souls! Boats and Burnham have facked you up..
In reply to Emir
GOPIO to the Worldddddddd!!!
In reply to Emir
Older generation Guyanese in NY are basically transplants of 60's and 70's Guyana.
The older heads on here can expound better on the racial divide in Guyana...partially due to British/American influence.
The older generations have long memories and don't really let go of grudges
In reply to Khaga
who is this jackass
I grew up in multi ethnic Georgetown, went to school with, lived amongst. My parents were teacher and civil servant. I thank god for such an up bringing as it has given me an open mind, I treat and judge folks on content of character not being shy to praise or chastise as I see fit. Many of my lifelong friends are of different races, Black, Portuguese, Chinese, Mixed, Indian. What I can say though is the country was deeply politicized among ethnic lines with the 2 major parties. I only lived during the rule of Burnham and Hoyte for a brief period before migrating. My family knew many of the politicians.
Freddie was one of the proponent of this coalition before the elections and expected to be rewarded, he got nothing so he is bitter.
We can say this of him for the previous administration too. He hangs is mouth and campaigns for them and when they get into power and tells him "no soup for you" all hell breaks loose.
This guy is a big joke ....
In reply to exodus ....The older generations have long memories and don't really let go of grudges .... ditto and Freddie is from that Era.
In reply to Bigzinc
I think he shorten his name from Khangalan

Runs, I do not subscribe to Mr. Kissoon's outright broad brush labeling of one group as racist evil. I do recognize however, that racism among Indo Guyanese against their Afro Guyanese brothers.
I also recognize that Afro Guyanese are more apt and have demonstrated a willingness to live in peace and harmony while accepting Indo Guyanese culture. It is sad, "Indo Guyanese" do not feel the same way and have largely worked against eliminating racism in Guyana.
But by far, my biggest disappointment, is among Muslims in Guyana. I know they are a minority group. But Islam forbids racism in its entirety and to see Indo Muslim Guyanese team up with non Muslim Indos or did nothing to eliminate racism is indeed a sin.
I have told many Guyanese Muslims to refrain from calling themselves Muslims as they cannot both be a Muslim and a racist.
What are your thoughts and can you speak for what Guyanese Muslims are doing to eliminate racism and be examplers for all Guyanese and for the betterment of Guyana?
In reply to Mulla Bin Emir
And yet there you are! An Afro Muslim Tittie who has nothing but hate for Indo Guyanese.
It must really grind your gears eh Mulla?

You all are avoiding the crux of the matter.
Discuss which crimes are predominantly committed amongst the different races.
In reply to SnoopDog
Laughable how this crazy coot is trying to use this article as a validation for his beliefs.
He is as transparent as glass.
In reply to Devin
Everyone knows the answer to that question Bro.
We just letting Mulla Bin Emir expose further his hatred for Indo Guyanese folks. He seems to have a fetish to get it out of his system on this MB.

Darn just spilled me popcorn.

As a boy I went to Queenstown masjid in G/town next door to Dukes and muslims of all ethnicities attended and worshipped together. I did not encounter or observe what you are stating. That being said it may be so in rural areas which are extremely segregated. From what I have heard and read this divide started with the introduction of indentured laborers and was encouraged by the Colonists to divide and conquer. It then took root in politics and has been used by both Afro and Indo politicians to the detriment of the country to this day.
Mr Foreman god bless and rest his soul, a black muslim who owned businesses in GT, used to personally pick me and my brothers up and take to the mosque. As Dukestreet can confirm or deny lol us guys had wonderful smallboy days. We played cricket, gam, a marble game for rubberbands and other childhood games together. We were young and carefree and not tainted by racism or biasness, visiting each others homes, respecting elders etc.
I would not trade it for anything.

Yep, I agree with you, you left before I did. The country seems to be polarized and needs healing. Sad for a place we love so deeply. The politicians are to blame
In reply to Emir
You need to be careful - this is more a problem related to rural Indians particularly from the Corentyne and even that is not uniform.
I know many Guyanese Indians who do not have a racist bone in their bodies - including my beloved brother in law and more than a few childhood friends, adult friends and colleagues.
In reply to DukeStreet
My father went to his childhood friend's business and rescued him from a mob in the middle of the city in those horrific days in the 60s. He drove him and some staff home.
So Freddie Kissoon right? Is the indo Guyanese immune to assimilation?
I will be banned as soon as my post is posted but guess what? I don't give a fuck!give me five more minutes to elaborate on what a pressure cooker fulllaman really is!
EMir has always been a bigot....if it's not Guyanese Indos, it's Hindus...old bigots are the worse kind
