50 now dead in protests against the Socialist President Nicolas Maduro.

In my opinion this warrants an intervention by the USA.

How is that going to be done?

I don't know. I would like to hear from you, the smart ones, on what can be done.

Stiff sanctions on the members of the ruling party and other senior members in government may work without having to resort to force.

I have searched the internet and not a word from CARICOM. That Caribbean body body still exist?

This is one time I would agree with you if you said this Venezuela embarrassment is the legacy of the Obama government, made so by their endeavor to rid the hemisphere of any practice of socialism, and by so doing left the Trump administration to clean up any residue. But, you missed the opportunity.

Please expound on why this is Obama's Admin fault.

Legacy, not necessarily fault.

But, please read my post again.

I do not get this part:

their endeavor to rid the hemisphere of any practice of socialism

Apart from Cuba (let's put them aside for this discussion), Hugo Chavez's Venezuela was the only country left in the Americas practicing socialism. Upon strongman Chavez's departure the opportunity was seized to implement policies that proved detrimental to Venezuela's economy and by extension, the inhabitants.

Was it by accident? I don't think so.

Apart from the USA making steps to protect the world from inflated high oil prices what specific policies did we implement that hurt Venezuela.

The Socialism government flourished with high oil prices but when hit with a crisis Socialism collapses. That is why Capitalism will always be the right choice but that is for another discussion. We have to get rid of this criminal Maduro and save the people.

US is the largest producer of oil.

Us is selling weapons. We can send a sales guy.
He is on a sales call now, but can stop over on his way back

I didn't hear any such call when the thieving capitalists were in power. That was the beginning of the downfall of Venezuela. Way back in the late 80s and probably before. The thieving capitalist were the reason Chavez went from jail to president.

You all should read Confessions of an Economic Hitman. When you are done, sit back and think for 30 minutes....

And then ask yourself, "have I not seen this before? Am I seeing it now??"

People here citing Maduro or Chavez or socialism as the cause of Venezuela's problem should be castrated, the stupidity (or propagandist nature) should be eliminated from the human gene pool.
