...know the difference between a right arm orthodox leg spinner (a finger spinning leggie) and a wrist spinning leggie.
Jack and jackass need to learn a thing or two before they comment on cricket here.

In reply to camos
Sure it is; and left arm orthodox spinners is a finger spinner.

In reply to camos
Courtesy,
Camos is correct. Now have de coutesy to come back in here and own up to you misinformation!!! You have been misinformed!!!
Is this a case of "Cock mouth kill cock" or "Mouth open, story jump out".
Something about a finger spinning legie sounds indecent.
reminds me of the "swing and seam" thread by rb years ago

In reply to StumpCam
I'm NOT surprised that some doesn't know proper grammar.
St Lucia doesn't have a long cricket history.
In reply to Outswinger
Don't hold your breath.A pseudo cricket cognoscente does not apologize.
RB had never admitted that he didn't know the difference between swing bowling and seam bowling.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
what about Trinidad and swing and seam Redbaron>?
In reply to Toney
Well it looks like Courtesy high-tailed it outa here!
Allyuh too foolish.
Sanjay Mandreka explained it beautifully during the IPL.
Jack and Jackass were provided with the exact quote from Sanjay noting the difference.
Allyuh know absolutely nothing about cricket.
Let me repeat: There are finger spinning legspinners and wrist spinners. The wrist spinners are the ones with the ability to bowl the googly.
..............
Cognoscenti, please continue to post...I'll be right back.
Fellas, allyuh have permission from de Courtesy to delete or amend your posts.
Lemme see who is brave enough among the cohort of jackasses.
Ah doh know too much about cricket but ah do know that a right hander holding the ball between his forefinger and middle finger can bowl off breaks or leg breaks by pulling down the middle finger or the forefinger.
But ah cyah figure out how to spin a ball widout using the wrist
In reply to Maispwi
Ah neva heard of a right arm orthodox who bowls leg-spin. Any right arm orthodox is an off-break bowler. Leg spin is considered unorthodox as far as I know. Leg spinners have to use the fingers to spin the ball, in addition to generous use of the wrist. No such thing as a wrist spinner who can spin the ball without vigorous finger use.
It is possible to bowl leg breaks with fingers out of the front of the palm without using the bent wrist, but this is neither orthodox nor common. Maybe some off-spinners might consider it for their doosra.
Who are the finger spinning leg spinners?
In reply to Outswinger
Those that bowl the doosra?
In reply to imusic
Legspinners bowl the doosra? Oh my
You guys only chat skunt on here many of you never played the game and know nothing about it. All theoretical pundits none practicality and it shows.

imusic just does not want to use googley. This type of delivery bowled by the wrist spinner brings pain to some folks hearts here. That was deliberate and intended to solicit some kind of flutter or murmur.
In reply to Courtesy
You are spinning like
Trump
In reply to Runs
Trump lol
Is that his orthodox delivery or effort ball?
I hope by now Davendra Bishoo can bowl the doosra.
In reply to Outswinger
Doh tek my word for it. Just try it out for yourself
In reply to Maispwi
Brother, if you are a legspinner and can bowl the doora you will understand the huge difference in wrist position and wrist work and how the ball leaves the hand.
Further, you will understand what differentiates finger spin from wrist spin.
Anyone with experience bowling legspin with doosras will know this.
In reply to Courtesy
How is that anti Bishoo campaign going?
In reply to Runs
Runs let dem guys rin at the mouth nah.
Orthodox as far as spin bowl8ng means finger spin or 'normal' or common practice of spinning a ball by flicking or twisting of the fingers whether leftie or rightie.
Wrist spinners are just the opposite. For a rightie its simply called wrist spinner normally leg break/googley and leftie its wrist spin chinaman/googley. The story goes that a WI left arm wrist spinner of chinese descent from Jamaica bowled an english batsman out and he growled imagine being bowled by a chinaman.
In reply to Courtesy
Dude orthodox means usual, normal, accepted, common. Unorthodox is the opposite. Benn is an orthodox leg break bowler (finger spinner). Chase is a right arm orthodox. Bishoo is a wrist spinner (un orthodox or unusal non common bowling) method. Mohammed the Trini is a left arm chinaman/googley bowler. They simply dont need to say all the unorhtodox leftarm chinaman googley bowler. It is already through years of cricket understood what left arm or right arm googley means
In reply to Scar
I think that guy was Trini.
In reply to camos
yea dat was "Puss" Achong
In reply to doosra
sounds right, could not remember the name.
lol the amount of shit in this thread most of it by the 'cricket smart' (in reality a cricketing dunce who pretends he has understanding of the game)
There is only ONE TYPE of leg spin and thats wrist spin. There is no orthodox or finger spinning leg spin.
However just like offspinners, some leg spinners just let the bowl roll out the hands while others gives the wrist a big flick and lets the ball rip from the fingers.
So and this is how he got mixed up.....the more u involve ur fingers the more spin and action u get on the ball.
And when u just use ur wrist and just let ball roll out then there lets action u get.
In reply to Andy99
Bingo, the googly involves more finger action, and as you noted some leggies use more finger action on the ball than others.
In reply to Andy99
Why spoil the man's ignorance
You should have left him to self praise and dwell in it
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Please do not attribute Courtesy's stupidity to his being a St. Lucian. I have been telling you all from day 1, that the guy is a rank idiot--and that is all on him.
In reply to JOJO
Mih belly even the Lucians disowning him skunt

Sorry sir. I spent good times in st Lucia and have good friends there

Finger spinning leggie?
In reply to Verstehen
You do hold the ball with your fingers still and bowl spin that turns from leg to off.
Hence finger spinning leggie.
palm spinners, anyone?
how about elbow spinners?
In reply to doosra
How about a fast bowling legspinner?
In reply to Verstehen
Don't worry. He will come back and argue about left arm bowler vs right arm bowler...lefthanded batsman vs righthanded...bowling in the northern hemisphere vs the Southern Hemisphere---all kinds of stuff.

Lots of fish in your net today
Oh gad oye! Aye!
There is cricket fan and there is cricket student and then there is cricket dunce
Commentator Sanjay Manjrekar a short while ago while Amit Mishra was bowling his first over of legspin...The following are his exact words:
"You got more bases covered with the wrist spinner which you can't get with the finger spinner."
Sanjay Manjrekar's comment is now on the record in this age of the internet and communication...profound comment.
Hehehehehehehehehehe!!!!
Thank you Sanjay Manjrekar, you know your leg spin stuff.
School Rums and Rumsout, Sanjay...school them.
De Rumbellies might as well be wiped out of the face of this MB or migrate to another part of the Milky way to learn about the nuances of cricket.

lol u dumbass one of two things there:
1)Sanjay is a spin bowling dunce.
2)U the dumbass misunderstood what Sanjay was saying, which was the wrist spinner aka leg spinner and by extension the Chinaman has more than the finger aka orthodox spin which is off spin or slow left arm spin.
I highly suspect its the latter.
The cricketing dunce so stupid that he couldn't understand what Sanjay was saying and is using that what he dont understand as a quote to save he dotish skunt.
PS: I was watching live, as Mumbai was batting.
In reply to Andy99
Did you hear Sanjay and the context of his statement? Do you know he was speaking about leggies in the IPL?
What type of bowler is Amit Mishra? Why would Sanjay compare Mishra with an offie.
But did you understand the context?...A yes or no will suffice.
In reply to Andy99

Don't bother to post...you too dunce and your post is without any element of thought.
In reply to Courtesy
And he was saying that these bowlings, aka wrist spin bowlers have an advantage over finger spin aka off and slow left arm spin.
Is that so difficult to understand?
Again wrist spin bowler = Leg spinner + Chinaman
In reply to Courtesy
Yeah u talk about dunce
In reply to Andy99
I have ordered you to stay away from posting. You know not what you are talking about.
I have already identified you as a dunce. Give someone else a chance to wear the duncey hat.
In reply to Halliwell
The dude is intellectually dull and tone deaf
In reply to Courtesy
Open up ur site in St. Lucia.....oh shit I forgot they dont want ur dotish dunce skunt there either
In reply to Andy99
The above happens to all of us when we are losing an argument.
Bishoo needs to be more of a shoulder spinner
to get that googly
In reply to JOJO
Oh Gord me belly
I gine done wid dis post, but first lemme say dis and y'all can take it however you like.
Leg spinners don't bowl doosras! A doosra is a 'legbreak' type of ball bowled by an orthodox right hand bowler with the off-break action. But the sort of wrist angle needed is hard to attain without chucking. This is why so many do chuck, like Shilly, when they bowl it.
As far as leg spin, in general when it comes to right handers, e.g. Bish, the spin on the ball is effected by the FINGERS; the turn of the ball, i.e. whether it is a leg break or a googly is controlled by the position and angle of the wrist. Specifically the legbreak is bowled from the side of the palm and the googly from the back of the hand (over the top of the palm).
There is some confusion because of misused terms just like how people will sometimes say that they need to 'xerox' some piece of paper. They mean copy, but xerox with the big innovator in business so the term is misused in that sense. Or, ever hear anyone tell you about your ipad when it is an Android tablet? Misuse.
In reply to Outswinger
The wrist has to be in play for it to spin from leg to a right hander
In reply to Outswinger
You are correct...but follow the thread closely.
In reply to Courtesy
Nah, Ah done wid dat. I bowled off-breaks as well as legspin with both leg breaks and googlys when I used to play club cricket. With off spin, I did have an arm ball but not a doosra. So I know a little something of this. I did not learn my cricket in a book. I can 'boast' of being hit around by Sheldon Gomes, Teddy Foster and those guys from time to time.
In reply to Outswinger
Me nah done yet.
My vocabulary is augmented!
In reply to Outswinger
and that applies to ALL legspinners, hence there is no FINGER legspinner.
In reply to camos
You mean right handed leg spinners
In reply to camos
Yep
Time to reach for the archives.
At least you guys can have the decency to apologize.
Allyuh facting dunces have been exposed royally.
Allyuh should be banished from this MB and I will not hesitate to tell you how dunce you are about the art of leg spin.
This is jokey thread
In reply to Courtesy
