Hi all, been awhile but I thought I'd reach out here to see what info I can get.
I am interested in West Indian authors. Can anyone recommend any essential reading (particularly historical). I am familiar with V. S. Naipaul, any others I should be looking for?
Thanks

When you say "historical" do you mean historical novels, or history on West Indies by West Indians?
If novels, see Marlon James, Pamela Mordecai, Colin Channer.
If history, see Colin Palmer, Arnold Bertram, Ewart Walters, Rachel Manley, Philip Sherlock, Michael Manley, Franklin Knight, Rex Nettleford, Olive Senior.

George Lamming, Earl Lovelace, Claude McKay, Lorna Goodison
Deryck Walcott
Eric Williams if you are interested in history.
