I don't think Powell will get any better.

Lewis days numbered too
Ah didn't know much about him, but saw him play a few shots vs Pakistan N then I said to myself that this chap is going far.
In reply to Larr Pullo
is the same sweep he was playing all day. He was beaten by flight.

Take a bow..

That noise was only coming from one corner of the room.
In reply to methodic
Now if only other players could get the same extended opportunities.

Shai's failures have mainly been in tests. He's done well in ODI's

Hope and Chase the only pure batsmen we have really. Was in Bim and watched him scored 3 centuries at under 19. You could see the class right there. For years I thought his brother was the best batsman in Barbados but was just not given the run he needed to establish a spot on the Bim team. Bim, still looking for an No.2 batsman. Very short sighted management. Does the boards do anything to get players like Ambris, Hamilton and the like overseas contracts to continue playing. There is too much down time for them not to be somewhere outside of the W.I. working on their skills.
It is interesting that the Selectors were patient with Hope's development, but they were quick to discard Blackwood who was a quick starter and who have 10 Test fifties and a Test century in just about twenty something Test played. Something looks suspicious, it is because he is from a different birth place?
BLackwood played over 20 test.
Isn't that being given a run?
In reply to dayne
the selectors did not discard Blackwood

No, he is a talent bar none
One-eye man is king in Blindman Land. Very talented, but extremely lucky to have gotten the chances that he did. Blackwood could use a godfather like Shai Hope.
Anyway, let's hope he continues his upward progress. WI could ill afford to waste what little useful talent it could find these days.

List A ODIs
MAT Inns NO Runs HS Ave
Blackwood - 32 30 3 680 108* 25.18
Hope - 32 30 1 1192 125 41.10
Why the constant knockdown one to build another. Focus should be on developing more instead of just replacing one with another. Hope is one batsman that seems to work hard at overcoming his failures. Many of the others get out the same way all the time. By now their are books about each of them yet not many have improved.

These men acting like blackwood play one game and then get drop.
[b]In reply to
Blackwood is young enough and have enough ability to work his way back in the starting eleven. The man was in the 13 against Pakistan so its not as if the selectors forgot about him.

"And", not "or".
