Blackwood doesn't go to England. The way things are going now, I certainly won't be. What possible reason would the selectors have for picking him now when he was omitted against Pakistan?

Why is this thread only addressed to Jamaicans?

Isn't Blackwood a West Indies cricketer?

I'm wondering will the selectors pick him again knowing that, barring injury, he won't get a game.

Bravo won't get picked..Samuels won't get picked....

To answer your question.....yes. Blackwood is a Windies cricketer....

but you recall the disappointment of many Jamaicans when a son of the soil was excluded from the recent historic test at Sabina Park...all for a batsman whose average was half that of Blackwood...

I was back in Jamaica a week after that test and when I asked my relatives if they went them kiss them teeth and say. ...why would they waste their time watching a team without a jamaican losing yet another test match?

If that's the case....why would Windward islanders go to cricket?

Why would Leeward Islanders for many years go to cricket?

Why would Guyanese go to a WI T20 match?

Not only Jamaicans were disappointed or upset that Blackwoood was not selected for that match

My relatives instead went to watch the Ardenne classic track meet held at the UWI bowl. I picked up my niece there. She came second in her age group in the 60 metres. The place was packed! Thousands were there.

Sports fans in Jamaica are less interested in West indies cricket these days and more interested in track meets. I don't blame them.

Well I certainly appreciate the sentiment....guess I'm somewhat insular like the rest who fiercely campaign for the inclusion of their home island's cricketers...

I was at Sabina Park for that test and I was surprised that Blackwood was omitted in favor of two debutants. I think there was about 200 people in attendance on each of the 3 days I attended.

Sad to say, interest in cricket is waning in Jamaica and I doubt Blackwood's inclusion in the final eleven would have affected the turnout.

Whatever fleeting interest there still is for cricket in Jamaica is reserved for the CPL and it is noteworthy that Cameron and his WICB clique-to hell with imitative "Cricket West Indies"!- have nothing to do with it.
