ET/Dacres/Novlene/Collins/Ahye@ London DL Sunday
For UK viewers, this will be on BBC1 tomorrow, starting about noon....
All being well I will be in the stands waving my Jamaica flag.

Will check if NBCS carry it here live.

Allison Felix is something else. i thought all the mileage would have taken a toll on her by now, then she just does a 49.65.
In reply to rudebway
She is. Shaunae watch out.
Elaine just did enough to win.
The atmosphere in the stadium was fantastic!
I will watch the recording tomorrow.

is Miller planning to double? btw did you notice that Genieve Russell decides to run well now... after flopping at trials. interesting meet.
In reply to rudebway
Don't know on 1st question, but don't think she should.
Russell is a mystery. She looked to be coming to form, but flopped badly at trials as you stated. Now she runs a well timed race and looked like she had a lot left in the tank. Her time though was not impressive. The Americans looking to sweep this event. See what S Little did in the individual 400?
In reply to RoyalDad
Whichever one of Miller or Felix decides to double at WC put a $100 bet on the other (one not doubling) in the 400m.
In reply to rudebway
Never doubt that woman, bredren. Felix is a true warrior and very resilient. She is only focusing on the 400m, which is a very smart move on her part. Miller is doubling, so depending on what the rounds rotation is, she may be slightly more tired than Felix is when they face off against each other.
In reply to RoyalDad
That was stunning by Russell, who could only manage fourth in the trials.
Women's 400m hurdles
1) Janieve Russell (Jam) 54.02
2) Cassandra Tate (US) 54.59
3) Theron Nel (SA) 54.73
That was a massive margin! It's a shame she didn't get one of the top three positions in the trials. Does she have difficulty running the rounds?
I must say, I know Sashalee Forbes is running the 200m, but she did not look good in the 100m heats. I mean, 11.36 for fifth? And Christania Williams looked laboured in coming sixth in her hear in 11.34.
I was really worried when I saw Megan Simmonds fall in the 100m hurdles, but she seemed to be okay as she got up afterwards.
In the men's 400m hurdles, Kyron McMaster (BVI) went off like a train, but was caught by Kerron Clement (US) on the final straight.
1) Clement 48.02
20 McMaster 48.12
Daniel Stahl of Sweden won the men's discus with a throw of 66.73, just ahead of his rival, Frederick Dacres of Jamaica (66.66).
Elaine Thompson won the women's 100m running in flats!
1) ET 10.94
2) Schippers 10.97
3) Okagbare 10.99
In reply to mikesiva
Good summary. Russell went out too hard at trials. Had a 5m lead heading into the straight and lost her rhythm. I guess she was also tiring and fell apart. Chalk it up to overconfidence. She could have run with the pack and qualified easily.
In reply to mikesiva
Ok, I didn't see Elaine run so I gotta go back and watch the tape. Amazing.
Whassup with Kaliese? Has she been reinstated yet or is it too late in the game for her in 2017?
BTW, Kerani James is not running in London next month. Fitness issues.
In reply to DukeStreet
Kaliese was cleared in time for the national trials but she didn't do well.
BTW Aisha Praught of Jamaica came third in the women's 3000m steeple chase in 8:53.43 at lucerne.
In reply to mikesiva
How many Kenyans were in the steeple chase?
In reply to Headley
Just one!
In reply to mikesiva
I heard that too and it was a very pedestrian effort at 10.94
Is she injured? ....By the way...the "great white hope" hasn't beaten Elaine in quite a while...in anything...neither indoor 60m, 100m nor 200m...
In reply to SirGarny
Maybe Dafne burned herself out going for glory last year with the Olympics at stake?
In reply to SirGarny
I suspect her handlers are trying to prevent injury.
10.94 in flats is prolly 10.84 in spikes.
In reply to Headley
She's an amazing talent...on par with a young SAFP..
and Daphne STILL couldn't beat her...
at full tilt we will likely see 10.70 in London at the WCr....
Even Ato Bolden predicts something in the 10.6's range...
Let's just hope she remains injury free and hungry!
