This reminds me of the man in the Bible who sold his Heritage for a mess of Pottage .

It seems that some Prime Ministers
do not read the Bible or really do not
comprehend when they read the Bible .

Life is really very Funny , WE now
have some Prime Ministers bowing to the Great Dictator . What a Ting . I
never thought that a day would come when one of the Leaders in the Region would Bow down to the Great Dictator . .

You really think any of the PM's, can look in the mirror, and say they are doing a better job, than the CWI?
These people are all in the same boat
Only the people can change the CWI, not government.
Barbados is about to elect a government soon, would you like China or Russia to have a say in who to elect?
The CWI is a limited company, get involve and vote, if you wnt to see changes.

Can you outline, the similarity between theIndia legal system of India and that of the Caribbean.
I must admit, I know very little of both.

After all the hype and with all the drama of CWI VS CARICOM this is all the support Mason andGuesses could attract?

POINT 2017-07-11 23:24:25

Most Commonwealth Countries Basic
Laws are patterned after English Laws . In fact , many cases in Countries that are still governed by England , eg Monserrat & Anguilla and are Dependencies of England , the
highest Court for them is the Privy Council . This means that Cases in these two Countries , after being heard by the 3 Judge Panel , go on appeal straight to the Privy Council .

Cases that involve simultaneously different English Speaking Countries in the same case are heard by the
The Caribbean Court of Justice , this is why Ms Myrie's case was heard by the CCJ .

I would like all persons in this Forum to read about the Lodhar , and the fact that the Supreme Court of India was disdainful of the BCCI ,and that is putting it mildly .

The Truth is that the BCCI Officials
were verbally slapped around by the
India Supreme Court .

ALLOW ME TO AGAIN CITE THE FACT THAT

THE JUDGES ; MENTIONED THE FACT THAT

THE BCCI WAS NOT TRANSPARENT ; IT WAS

NOT ACCOUNTABLE ; AND DID NOT

EXERCISE GOOD GOVERNANCE . THIS SEEMS

VERY FAMILIAR , AT LEAST TO ME IT WAS .

The tardiness of the BCCI , in not implementing the recommendations of the Lodhar Report once again got the
attention of the India Supreme Court
it was quite evident that the Supreme Court Judges were to put it mildly Pissed .

AS I HAVE STATED HERE SEVERAL TIMES ,

THE JUDGES REMOVED BOTH THE PRESIDENT

AND THE SECRETARY FROM THEIR OFFICIAL

POSITIONS IN THE BCCI . ONE OF THE

THINGS THEY CITED , WHICH ALSO

APPLIES TO THIS REGION ; IS THAT THE

SUPREME COURT WAS OF THE OPINION THAT

THE BCCI CANNOT BE IN CONTROL OF A

PUBLIC SPORT .

IT WAS LAUGHABLE WHEN I READ THAT

THE BCCI WAS REDUCED TO BEGGING THE

ICC FOR HELP REGARDING THIS MATTER .

Interestingly ; I recall that when
the Government of Guyana took the
GCB to Court , neither the ICC or the
WICBC put in an appearance .

I CITE THIS TO ILLUSTRATE THAT WHEN

THE ICC STATES THAT GOVERNMENTS MUST

NOT INTERVENE IN CRICKET , THAT IS

PURE B.S .

It is my understanding that recently
the former President of the BCCI made
a disrespectful remark about the Judges , they told him in no uncertain language that he must Apologise , or he would be held in Contempt ; unless the apologise .

I get the impression that the India Supreme Court does not take Prisoners .

POINT 2017-07-11 23:38:45

I INVITE ALL TO READ THE TIMES OF

INDIA DATED 7TH JULY 2017 - SPORTS

" SUPREME COURT ASKS BCCI PRESIDENT

A. THAKUR TO TENDER AN UNCONDITIONAL

APOLOGY ".

Apparently Thakur wants to give the
Court a letter from the ICC . It aint
look like the Judges are interested in hearing from the President of the ICC .

Has it ever occurred to these stooges that their territory is represented by a local director? You think that would be the first place they would start if they really wanted to effect change.

Makes you wonder what is their true intent when they hurdle their own representation in favor of big pronouncement and statements in the media.

I am the only poster on this MB, that has been writing about electing people to regional boards, that has been around for decades.
The BCA is having its election this month, and Conde Riley is the biggest culprit, who has been around for two or more decades, yet Barbados has not produced one good International Star, and he has the gall, to seek the presidency of the BCA.

Conde is only there because no one has come forward who can beat him. He's very popular in cricket circles

Point, I just read this for the first time

Supreme Court removes Thakur, Shirke from top BCCI posts

My question to you is, who took the BCCI to court?
Has any committee in the region, ever taken the WICB/CWI, for not following the recommendations of the reports, their requested?

Is he the only one running?Have you every hear him talk about any policy he would change or implement, in his 2-3 decades at the BCA & CWI?

course not...plus when you have mindsets like Fuzzys...which really is an OLD Guard disguised as Loyalty, you wont get any positive change...cause just like politics..they really dont want real change...they want croneys and favors and who they familiar with.

There is a youngster running...articulate and passionate...watch the Old guard literally close ranks shortly if they even think he wants to challenge the status quo.

Your point is well made even though I consider Riley a friend and while I do like his hands on approach in many instances with players. it has been his support of an Agenda that I cannot see myself supporting at the higher level that taints my possible support for him.

this goes beyond the BCA but more to regional positioning...ergo long term political planning.

I lived 4000 miles away, but listening to him, he recites the policies of the BCA/CWI, without adding any personal info, to what he is doing to effect change.
I am yet to hear him talk about his recommendations to any of the boards.
He should be put out to pasture, he he has not effect changes in the last 2-3 decades, being president of the BCA will not change the poor showing of Barbadian cricketers on the world stage and the CWI will continue to have a follower as it director.

FYI , there was a Committee that was appointed regarding the Structure of the BCCI . This Committee was named the LODHAR COMMITTEE .

My understanding is that Mr.Lodhar
was once a Judge in India . The Committee , recommended its Findings
to the BCCI ; the matter went to the
India Supreme Court , due to the fact that the BCCI was tardy in implementing the Recommendations of the Lodhar Committee .

This is why the Supreme Court in India heard the case , and stated that the BCCI must take on board the
recommendations of the Lodhar Committee .

The BCCI was still tardy in implementing the recommendations of
the Lodhar Committee , to demonstrate
that they were fedup of the BCCI intransigence , the India Supreme Court removed both the President &
the Secretary of the BCCI from their
Official Positions in the BCCI .

As I have stated here or elsewhere
the Ex President made a some remark
about the Supreme Court , and also wanted the Court to read a letter from the President of the ICC .

The Supreme Court demanded that the
Ex President Apologise to the Supreme Court . As I have stated here on many occasions Private Entities regardless
of whether they are Sports Entities
or Business Entities , they sure as Hell aint above the Law .

So when the Great Dictator talks about the WICBC/CWI being a Private
Entity , he is simply blowing Hot Air . I found it interesting at the time
that when the Government took the GCB
to Court some years ago , neither the
ICC OR THE WICBC showed up .

Obviously as I have stated several times in this Forum , the ICC telling
Governments that they cannot intervene in Cricket is simply a lot
of B.S .

IT IS MY BELIEF THAT IN A LAW COURT

ANY OF THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENTS

INDIVIDUALLY OR COLLECTIVELY WILL

HAVE STANDING TO BRING A CASE AGAINST

THE WICBC/CWI .

Because of the TREATY OF CHAGARAMUS
that case will be heard by the CCJ
in its Original Jurisdiction . Disputes involving various Countries
in the Region are heard by the Caribbean Court of Justice .

I have already cited the Myrie Case . I firmly believe that is a very easy case due to the fact that the WICBC
for many years now has Commissioned
Several Reports , and failed to implement the salient features of those Reports .

The WICBC /CWI will have to explain under Oath precisely what was the Purpose of having these Committees if
the WICBC /CWI had & have absolutely
no intention of making any Structural
Changes to its current archaic Structure .

It is likely that the Great Dictator
will ask the President of the ICC to
write a letter to the Court on his behalf a la the Ex President of the BCCI .
