Achievements

1) Our Test/ODI/T20 fees have been decreased by 75%

Reason why the senior players no longer interested in playing test or ODI

10) WIPA is receiving in addition to the 3% of all players earnings, a sum of $500,000.00 USD annually from WICB (1% 0f WICB Revenue) once this new agreement remains
.

The big pay off from WICB to screw the players $500,000 usd, maybe this pays the CEO's salary along with that of Wayne Lewis.

Note if 500K is 1% then annual revenues have to be north of 50 Million usd.
That is a huge cash flow ppl will divert some of it i.e Dr. Hunte's home office.

Ramnarine became WIPA president in 2002 and aggressively represented the interests of the players in negotiations with WICB. In 2004, he was offered the position of chief executive after successfully negotiating increased sponsorship payments for players in the 2003 World Cup and securing compensation for players injured during the period of 1999-2003.

Since then, Ramnarine negotiated a substantial increase in retainer contracts and first-class fees that benefitted international as well as domestic West Indian players. Under his leadership, WIPA adopted a new constitution, which brought it in line with the guidelines and modern practices of similar cricket associations.

Now seniors can returned home

So hold on....the seniors never played while Ramnarine was WIPA President?

Was Ramnarine WIPA President when the tour of India in 2014 was abandoned?

Was Ramnarine WIPA President when Bravo and Pollard were not selected to the ICC World Cup squad in Australia?

Emphatically Yes.....

He has caused more damage to the players and weaken ther players rights and power considerably. He has helped the WICBC strangle WI cricket.

Without the Seniors, ie Gayle , Sars , Shiv , Ramdhin etc WIPA wouldn't exist today.

The Seniors, Lara and BP T&T funded WIPA during lean years. Dinas asked the lawyers to do pro bono work
for WIPA. Noticed they left after Dinas resigned.

Then H&H Regime was strangling WIPA, by not submitting dues that the players paid to the WICB to be forwarded to WIPA.

Dinas was full of confidence that Wavel would follow with leadership and told me he had confidence in him.

Today, I wonder if he feels the same way. WIPA is now toothless and a division of CWI.

Yeah. Wavell sold out the players' rights to CWI completely, for peanuts, alienated the top WI players from WIPA, joined CWI in castigating players by reducing their pay, supported CWI unilateral punitive action against players, did absolutely nothing to help resolve the Darren Bravo crisis, etc.

How in this world you could attempt to paint him in bright colors is beyond me, but there are still folks today who think Hitler was right.

Bro, Openning asked a simple question.

Is tc1 waving a Canadian flag?

Pacy 2017-07-14 00:43:58

In reply to openning

Wavel was a disaster to WI cricket and was part of the scheme to allow WICB to select and manipulate the players as they wish.

Ramnarine became WIPA leader when the FC players were paid next to nothing as Match fees and brought about changes across all levels. Ramnarine's approach had its share of criticism but he did more for WI cricket and the players.

The move of bringing back the seniors has more to do with Johnny Graves and Adams in my view.

Your friend the music man is the biggest flag waver on this MB, especially when a Bim player or Bajan is mentioned.

WICFan 2017-07-14 08:52:46

As much as it's been good to over 90 players a decent salary, 90 is too many considering the results domestically & internationally.

Reduce the number of contracts to 60 - 72.

All I know more players can now "eat a food" under Hinds regime, as a Democratic Socialist I give Hinds creds fah dat!
