If CWI commonsense prevails, Test Squad players:
Nice balance of experienced and youthful players, mostly the best players in the region with a few exceptions like the Shiv.

NOPE
Let him play a few A team matches to develop his confidence in test, setting him up for the future.
The only major decision would be picking a new captain, either reward Samuels with captaincy for loyalty, lol or since we are in forgiveness mood, hand back captaincy to Dwayne Bravo.
Another option if we are building for the future is to give Captaincy to young Royston Chase, all great options!

Nice T-20 test team
In reply to culpepperboy
Ironically, that was almost the exact test team prior to the problems, just a few youngsters added to the squad. Cannot help it if they are great at all forms of cricket.
Not too late I hope for new Squad to England!

Gayle does not look as if he can last 5 days on a field
Simmons..based on what....Powell has to be there and maybe take a chance on Evin Lewis
Dwayne Bravo...I do not think he bats or bowl well enough to be on a test team..and he is in the declining phase of his career
Pollard based on what..at the moment it is dubious whether he can make the odi team based on his last few outings..actually his T 20 output has been dipping dramatically
Narine...I have great difficulty seeing him outing test players
Beaton ...look at his first class record
It amazes me that folks call for Gayle..but when Shiv name comes up..they run for cover saying he too old. Shiv younger than Gayle.

The Shivster can play on my team any day, he is still the best batsman in the region.

Shiv not coming back
They not selecting Gayle, Big Bravo, Pollard, Simmons or Narine
Big Bravo, Pollard, Simmons etc aren't coming back to test cricket, they retired from FC Cricket, your living in fantasy world.

The guys not on retainer will play CPL. CWI is brainless not to have a CPL window. How can you have a window for IPL and not have one for your own tournament. Unless you are now in such a poor negotiating position you have to accept whatever tour dates are on offer.

Despite cameron's claims, CPL is NOT WICBPA/CWIPA's or however they want to refer to demself, tournament.
They have the rights to ALL cricket played in the region and apparently North America. So if someone wanted to run a tournament in the region, they would first have to get WICBPA's "blessing" to do so.
They indeed ran a regional T20 tournament for national teams.
They decided they no longer wanted to run this tournament.
CPL is a separate entity that is franchise cricket. Their owners are not members of WICBPA. CPL does pay a fee to WICBPA to have the rights to run the tournament in the region.
That's it. It's CPL's tournament. No one else's
Lots of politics and Business still in play despite yesterday news but we are still hoping for significant changes.
