Why should we continue with badly worn out cricketers...

...who got us where we are in the first place?

Is it good mgt or desperate measures arising out of a desperate situation?

The old head cricketers did not get us out of the quagmire in times past, what will be different this time?

The handing out of social welfare packages at the end of careers which were spent primarily in search of personal bling and pesos cannot be good policy.

What a set of groupers in our CWI brains trust to swallow this public relations gimmick from soon to be cricket pensioners.

These CWI groupers need to understand that what plagues our cricket is systemic and what is needed are radical changes to reset...not the cosmetic patch up work that they are embarking upon.

Further, what an example for our young aspiring cricketers.

Do you need brains to play T20?

Let them qualify for ODI without being placed in a TABC group then we can talk.

Our women cricketers have just proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it takes nothing special to win a World T20 tournament.

Did you listen to an interview with Marlon Samuels on cricket analysts questioning his poor returns in international cricket...his rebuttal says it all.

You are all over the place. It appears you will stop at nothing less than Cameron's removal

Do you need brains to play T20?

YES...absolutely.

Brains are needed to play any cricket

sunfish 2017-07-14 11:03:41

The T20 chasers will get the sponsors excited but are unlikely to get us wins because they are overrated and under tested in the other forms of the game.

what will be different this time?

For a guy with your intellect, I am surprised at such a question coming from you.

You want to know what will be different this time? Let me tell you.

Under Jimmy's administration, the toxic environment created by the administrators and the looking down on players as just ordinary people who should be grateful to West Indies Cricket for paying them a salary is over.

Calling your cricketers illiterate is over. That way of thinking under Jimmy and let me add Mr. Greaves is over.

Under Mr.Adams and Mr. Greaves a concerted effort is being made to show respect to the players and this approach in return demands respect from the players.

It becomes a two way street, not a one way street as before.

Players will no longer be afraid of repercussions when expressing themselves at privately held team meetings and discussions after a game.

That is what will be different.

Your input as a player under Mr.Adams and Mr.Greaves will be considered and not despised.

That is what will be different.

I can raise a number of other reasons as to why things will be different this time around but I would think by now you get the drift.

Do you know Mr. Adams or Mr. Grave personally?

One of the negatives associated with the return (or potential return) of the 'Stars', is that the chances for prospects like Ambris and Hamilton to make their international debut now looks even more remote. A waste of good talent, really.

Hopefully Hope won't be displaced.

Jimmy was my personal friend from schooldays and still is.

I do not know Mr. Graves.

Let the youngsters who were down in the trenches toiling to keep cricket West Indies afloat while others were out gallivanting continue doing battle.

Give them the tools and let them continue to battle.

You forgot to add the setting up of a special fund to buy wickets and runs at the international level.

......................

Brother, solving our cricketing woes go way beyond mending failed relationships. It requires meticulous planning with the requisite infrastructure to churn out cricketers with the skill set to compete at the international level. The changes you have stated while necessary are only minuscule in the grand scheme of things and cosmetic at best.

And this has been our perennial problem,...the absence of a comprehensive plan of action with measurable strategic imperatives to take us out of this 22 year rut.

The game at the territorial level needs a complete overall and in the absence of this we are doomed to failure.

No amount of cosmetic surgery will put this invasive carcinoma that is West Indies cricket into remission.

Jimmy Adams will be reduced to digging Greaves for our cricket.

...................

Btw, I would have expected everyone one of my junior managers to be asking this question during a strategy meeting: What do these IPL dwellers bring to the ODI and test match table that they did not bring in the past?

Let the youngsters who were down in the trenches toiling to keep cricket West Indies afloat

You makin it sound like it was some sort of sacrifice that these "youngsters" made by "toiling to keep WI cricket alive"

The reality is....they played FC cricket because as cricketers, the vast majority of them had no other options. Nobody was coming calling on them to play elsewhere. So they defaulted into the WI team. The "best" of the rest.

Given the chance...some, if not most of them, would run toward a contract overseas.

They get to eat a food so good for them. But eat a food policy has demonstrated that it's no way to be competitive with any measure of consistency in international cricket or any pro sport for that matter.

The MAIN benefit of eat a food is that your potential reserve pool gets international exposure and maybe one or two if you're lucky, like a Shai Hope, emerge as real candidates for a legit first team spot.

But even that.....that's what A team matches are supposed to be for

You should be arguing "What will change with the regurgitation of players who got us into that position" in the first place or what or who got us into our current position.

Btw you forgot perhaps conveniently:

Give them the tools and let them continue to battle.

Our last two World ODIs were won in the neanderthal age.

Smart but dumb...Organisms with tiny brains, or no brain at all, are capable of amazing feats.

But please, continue to relax and give us credit for non existent neuronal enhancements.

There is a reason why Chrissy writes: "Want a century call we..."

Btw, please get a view or audio of the last Sportsmax interview with Marlon Samuels.
