Newly reinstated West Indies batsman Darren Bravo will not feature in the upcoming Test series between the West Indies and England when the Caribbean side tours that country because the team had already been selected for the series.

Bravo apologized for his indiscretions on Wednesday, but it came a week too late as the West Indies selectors had already named the squad.

The left hander is however expected to be in the team for the One Day International series that follows the Test matches which is part of their said tour.

Guardian Media Sports was reliable informed that the teams for England will be revealed in a few days time and included in the line-up is Kemar Roach who has been in the wilderness for quite a while. Another Barbadian, all rounder Raymond Reifer will also be making the trip to England.

yeah but also after being out of competitive cricket for a while how would he look playing 5 day cricket.
I see no objections in him playing CPL then leaving to join the ODI squad once the selectors feel he is at a level to make an impact in the ODI squad.

Be real put yourself in Bravo's shoes.

CPL contract is USD 70,000.

Engilsh tour USD 5,000 per test.

Which one would you choose?

Match fees were slashed from US $17,500 to $5,000 in 2014 as a result of an agreement between WIPA and the WICB

Yeah, right! If they really wanted Bravo to go, and if Bravo really wanted to go, a way would've been found....
razz
Do you really want to tell me that the selectors prefer to have poor young, inexperienced Hetmyer there over Lil Bravo? Since the selection has not been announced, it could've been changed.
lol
As rubberd said, Lil Bravo will be earning $70,000 from the CPL, but only $5,000 per Test. I know what I'd choose! The announcement was just a face-saving measure....

West Indies cricket is already not going anywhere, thanks to the WICB...especially when players prefer the CPL to selection to a West Indies Test team. Doesn't it strike you as curious that the CPL players are only interested in the ODI tour, once the CPL is finished?
cool

was reliable informed

Story is written by Vinode Mamchan, IMO it seems that Vinode is the chosen one when CWI wants to get a particular story out.

Bravo virtually ruled himself out of selection for the England tour in August-September, saying he will be "fulfilling" his contract in the Caribbean Premier League where he represents Trinbago Knight Riders
