He will be unable to 'test' it and go full out for the next 2 weeks. It means he will be sure if he can run only a week before the start of WC.
Big negative - for a man who recovered (12 years ago) from other major injuries that is likely to raise some psychological issues.
Small positive - he will be well rested.

Says it was precautionary. He felt tightness in training and decided to play it safe.
