In reply to Controversy

Dubious
--------

Pollard was recently dropped for non performance
I am not sure that Gayle going to risk his T-20 dollars
Badree seem happy with T-20s
Simmons ..not sure what he brings
Russel may have to wait a year..assuming that he wants to risk his bad knees and lose out on T-20 dollars
Darren has been around and is just as mediocre as the current group
Pooran.......

Contributors
------------
I expect Dwayne Bravo to be a good contributor...experience and bowling at the death
Narine... experience and tight bowling
Marlon ... yes

The seniors will definitely bring confidence to the youngsters and support for the captain

Those are the only three I expect to see in odis

You quote stats

Did these guys have an environment to perform over a sustained period. CEO..selectors...chairman....even WIPA and the stray dog at Bourda call shot on them every other day. Regurgitated statistics have to be assessed in context. Eg Rawle lewis, Rajendra Dhanraj...Dave mohammed have horrible statistics but stats do not describe their disjointed careers, getting selected every other year with no sense of purpose or continuity.

Pollard began in 2007...true....but he was just a hard hitting boy back then...a novice thrown into the 2007 world cup with a prayer and plenty hope...needless to say he flopped...but was able to survive and carve a niche for himself...but for stats , he is a shytehound from 2007.

Wicb......or whatever the arse dey name have provided the best toxic environment to inhibit consistent positive cricket ovet the years....including the halycon years

So stats be damned.

My point is that without continuity, support and a work friendly environment...no employee will be fully productive...so them dam stats is a waste ah time.

....and yes...when i have a few Sam martins...it hard to tap the phone. cool

Gayle,Samuels Dwayne Bravo and Narine brings something to the ODIs...add Kyle Hope,Shai Hope Darren Bravo and Mohammed,Holder and Reifer and Gabriel and Powell and I see some competitiveness.

What environment? As adults one got to be smart enough to know that whenever you collect pay for play you got to play ... no ifs or buts. You caan stretch you hand out and grab the paycheck then blame environment. If you don't like or can't work in the environment stay away and give someone else a chance...

Simples!!!

In other words ...be docile and thankful ....dont answer back...yes boss.

That is typical colonial brainwashed subservience thinking.

Thinking like that is what affords entities like the WICB to exist unchallenged for 75 plus year with their particular syle of management...

Numerous....countless reports commitees have testified

My bro our experienced players do not need camaraderie, continuity or friendship to perform on any given day or in any form of cricket.

ur experienced players do not need camaraderie, continuity or friendship to perform on any given day or in any form of cricket.

but they, and any collection of individuals that hope to form a team, would benefit from a non toxic environment within which to perform. That's all I'm saying. Its amazing how these 'marginalized' players perform at an elevated level when they are with their foreign based clubs, but its easy to understand why when you look at the operations of these clubs and compare them to the WICB.

Professionals are just that -pros - camaraderie, continuity and friendship may not be necessary for them to perform top notch consistently...but camaraderie, continuity creates a a tremendous asset that when generated is the reason for great individual and team performances, as exemplified by many great teams including our own WIndies 15 yr run at the top, the Aussies, Chicago Bulls, Lakers, Bad boys Pistons with Isaih, Rodman.....

nb. even India were #1 for three weeks when they accidentally discovered the formula
