St John’s, ANTUGUA – Cricket West Indies (CWI) has reached an agreement towards a temporary player amnesty based on the existing participation rules.

The current rules stipulate that players participate or make themselves available for the domestic tournaments in the formats of the cricket they wish to play at the elite level. CWI Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Johnny Grave, following meetings with the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) says “the agreement forms part of a wider strategy to be more inclusive and to improve player relations aimed at re-engaging all players within our system so that they can perform at their best for the WINDIES Teams.”

The CEO also noted that a working group of the Cricket Committee is due to present their findings on player eligibility criteria this month end. Those recommendations will be tabled at the next quarterly Board of Directors meeting, due mid-September. Whilst these recommendations are being considered all CWI registered players will be available for selection.

“We recognize that it is highly unlikely that we will now automatically qualify for the 2019 World Cup, so whilst the qualifying tournament has yet to be confirmed by ICC, we may only have eight (cool ODIs against England and New Zealand in the next six months to prepare. It is crucial that we can have our best performing WINDIES players available for selection in these important games,” indicated the CEO.

Also to come on stream is a registration process which will seek to “compile the full list of all players in the Windies system, male and female and all age groups,” added President, Dave Cameron.

With the registration guidelines to be ready by October 2017, the President believes that “this will show commitment on the part of the players to be available for the format/s of the game they wish to play; a commitment to participate in the regional set-up and to honour the system to be in place by then.” Ideally “we must be able to identify the full slate and categories of players we have in the West Indies,” the President emphasized.

The WINDIES Team is being prepared for the qualification process for the 2019 World Cup and all measures are being put in place for the team to secure a spot. The WINDIES are currently in ninth place.

The region’s premier Super50 is scheduled for late January into February 2018. The WINDIES Men’s team will depart the region end of July for a 10-week tour of the UK.

The history of the WICBC informs me that there is an ulterior motive for
most of what the WICBC / CWI does .

My belief is that this is simply another Ploy , to achieve a certain goal . The WICBC /CWI is always steeped in Machiavellian Tactics .

Frankly I believe that PM. Rowley's
decision to take them to Court is the
reason for this brief show of benevolence .

People need to bear in mind that these are the same people who commissioned several Reports dealing
with the Structure of the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth .

THEY HAVE YET TO TAKE ON BOARD ANY

OF THE SALIENT RECOMMENDATIONS OF

THOSE REPORTS .

I cite this to illustrate that the
WICBC/ CWI is an Entity that has shown itself to have absolutely no credibility .

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has reached an agreement towards a temporary player amnesty based on the existing participation rules.

Doomed to fail

Is like saying you get a do over and could board de Titanic for a voyage to New York and insist on taking the same route, going straight ahead for the iceberg

You have made a Very Insightful comment , once again the Worst International has engaged in double talk .

Make absolutely no mistake , there is ALWAYS a hidden Agenda whenever the
Worst International Cricket Board in
the Commonwealth does something that
SEEMS to be good .The operating word
here is TEMPORARILY .

As I have stated elsewhere in the Rum Shop , Prime Minister Rowley stating that he intends taking them to Court
is a likely catalyst for this move
by Cricket Worst Idiots , aka CWI .

TEMPORARY PLAYER AMNESTY

I know there was a catch somewhere.....
The WINDIES Team is being prepared for the qualification process for the 2019 World Cup and all measures are being put in place for the team to secure a spot.

The amnesty is a band aid solution to secure a spot for the 2019 WC then it's back to the same old requirements.

It's jus not that easy to outfox the cunningness of the Emperor (tm POINT)...smile

It is indeed good to know that You are
finally beginning to see the Light .
Perhaps , just perhaps the Emperor &
his Minions realize that the compensation due Bravo is substantial .

My hope & expectation is that other Governments in the Region will join
Prime Minister Rowley in taking the WICBC/CWI to Court so that this decades long MalAdministration of Cricket in the Region comes to an end .

Next on the Hit List must be the Regional Boards , The Onus is on the Individual Governments in the Region
Demand that ALL the Regional Boards
adhere to TOTAL TRANSPARENCY ; TOTAL
ACCOUNTABILITY & GOOD GOVERNANCE .

I have learned throughout the years
that any time the Worst International Cricket Board states something , what
is stated must be examined with utmost care , because there is always
a Hidden Agenda behind everything they Say & Do , and it is never ever for the benefit of improving Cricket
in the Region , but for their own selfish Aims .

And I thought CWI were the beneficiaries of the amnesty, compliments of the (senior) players.

following meetings with the West Indies Players Association (WIPA)

The players they are talking about said this
In light of the above, we the players have now lost all confidence in your ability to properly represent the players in any meaningful way and as such, we are calling on the Officers of WIPA and any of those who may have a conflict of interest to tender their resignation unconditionally with immediate effect. ”

Who said that, the players who are no longer represented by WIPA, or those eat-a-food players (compliments of the said WIPA)?

Of course I do , it means that at any
time the Emperor sees it fit he can stop the Temporary Amnesty . It is up to the Emperor's discretion ; In essence the Emperor is potentially holding a Threat over the heads of
All Players .

The Emperor is engaging in Bullying
Tactics , Gaston Browne must be
really proud of going into business with the The Emperor . Congratulations Prime Minister
Gaston Browne ,Your Emperor is doing a Hell of a Job , you must be really
proud of him .

I said in a post a few days ago, before I heard the 'temporary' term, that this was being done by the Head bandit, for 2 reasons. As you have indicated to forestall legal action and secondly to get a strong team to play the ODIs, in an effort to qualify for the World Cup.
If that happens, everything will return to the head bandit's normal. Players be warned. Once a bandit always a bandit. He cannot change.

The Emperor things he is Slick , but I
can read him like a Book . This is precisely why Prime Minister Rowley must follow through and take the WICBC/CWI to Court .

The ex President of the BCC got the President of the International Cricket Crooks to write a letter on his behalf . The India Supreme Court
ignored the Letter .

THE BASIC THING IS THIS CRICKET

BOARDS CANNOT FULLY CLAIM THAT THEY

ARE IN THE GOVERNANCE OF A NATIONAL

SPORT .
