HEADLINE: Time to restore order in West Indies cricket

CaribbeanCricket.com 2017-07-18 07:15:28

That infamous day, October 17, 2014, in Dharmasala when West Indies abandoned their tour of India, signaled an unprecedented escalation of tensions between the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), recently renamed Cricket West Indies (CWI), and its players.

Previous player and board clashes after the 1998 South Africa tour, 2005 Sri Lanka tour and 2009 Bangladesh home series had resulted in some temporary reconciliation with both parties. However after 2014, the current Dave Cameron-led administration took unprecedented steps to make West Indies the only team in world cricket, and possibly modern professional sports, with the majority of its elite players sidelined.

Only in the past few months, with the Cricket Australia versus player's saga to date, has world cricket been exposed to another example of bad administrators failing to deal with cricketers.

As outgoing MCC chairman Mike Brearly recently warned, in an age where the ICC and all international boards have failed to fix the broken international fixtures calendar, while T20 leagues in their own countries continue to gain momentum, it's setting up a clear pathway for players to get away from foolish administrative turmoil, for T20 league riches and sanity.

It is very Good to see that Some People have decided that it is time to tell the Emperor & his Minions that they are freaking Naked .

The Truth is that they have been naked for a very long time , and some
of US in this Forum have continuously pointed out this freaking Fact .

THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE INTERNATIONAL

CRICKET CROOKS & ITS MEMBER

INTERNATIONAL BOARDS ARE ONLY

CONCERNED WITH MAKING MONEY . THEY

ARE NOT CONCERNED WITH ENSURING THAT

THE PLAYERS GET A FAIR DEAL . IT IS

ALL ABOUT MONEY .

Imagine the Goons in the ICC tells its Members that Governments cannot
intervene in Cricket . That statement
is pure unadulterated B.S .

THIS IS PRECISELY WHY THE SUPREME

COURT OF INDIA HAS PUT THE BCCI UNDER

HEAVY MANNERS . THE ICC COULD NOT DO

ONE BLASTED THING , BUT WRITE A

LETTER TO THE EX PRESIDENT OF THE

BCCI TO DELIVER TO THE INDIA SUPREME

COURT .

It is high time that Governments in Cricket Playing Countries take a serious examination of their Cricket Boards , and bring those that are failing to Heel .

POINT 2017-07-18 08:50:45

The Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth is without any
doubt the WICBC which changed its name to Cricket Worst Idiots , CWI perhaps believing that would ameliorate the
stench of the WICBC .

It is asinine to pour New Wine in Old
Bottles . In essence the Emperor &
his Minions mistakenly believe that
Changing the name would help the Organization . That was & is utter Stupidity .

For years Cricket in the Region has been failing particularly in the longer versions of the game . ALL the
blame was placed on the Players .

This is despite the freaking fact that the Administration of Cricket has been abysmal . The Players have been and are always those who bore &
bear the brunt of Criticism .

When the freaking Truth it is those in the governance of Cricket in the Region who have failed us miserably .
They commissioned several Reports in an effort to deflect criticism from their Stewardship .

Frankly that scenario cannot work anymore . Prime Minister Rowley needs
summons up his Testicular Fortitude and take the WICBC/CWI to Court , because as I have stated many times in this Forum there exists an abundance of reasons why the Emperor
& his Minnions MUST BE REMOVED FROM

THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN THE

REGION , THIS MUST ALSO APPLY TO THE

REGIONAL BOARDS , LIKE THE WICBC/CWI

THEY TOO ARE BASTIONS OF INIQUITY .

Commissioning several Reports and then ignoring the salient Recommendations of these Reports was
and is a Machiavellian Tactic designed to Bamboozle the General Public .

They never had & have absolutely no
intention of changing their 89 nears old Structure , because it allows then not to be Transparent ; not to be Accountable or adhere to Good Governance .

ALL Aspects of Cricket in the Region
must be changed ; and it now seems that since the Regional Boards & the
WICBC/CWI refuse to change then the
Governments in the Region must do the
Right thing by taking all of them to Court .

Contrary to what the Regional Boards and the WICBC/CWI believe the stark
undeniable truth is this :

IT WAS TAXPAYERS MONEY THAT

GOVERNMENTS SPENT TO HOST THE 2007

CRICKET WORLD CUP , I SERIOUS DOUBT

THAT THE BUMS IN THE WICBC SPENT ONE

FREAKING PENNY .

In this very Forum I stated that before the Governments took Taxpayers money and give it to the WICBC , they
needed to make the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC sign a
Legally binding Document stating in clear unambiguous terms that it will
have Structural Changes in the WICBC .

Despite what I stated the Governments
decided to help the Bums using Taxpayers money to host the 2007 World Cup .

THEREFORE BEYOND THE SHADOW OF A

DOUBT. EVERY PRIME MINISTER IN THE

REGION ; IN MY OPINION , HAS STANDING

INDIVIDUALLY & COLLECTIVELY TO TAKE

THE WICBC/CWI TO COURT ON BEHALF OF

THE PEOPLE IN THE REGION , REGARDING

THE ABYSMAL FAILURES OF THE WICBC IN

ITS STEWARDSHIP OF CRICKET IN THE

REGION . THE REGIONAL BOARDS MUST

ALSO HAVE THEIR DAY IN COURTS .

It is time that WE have true & meaningful Reforms AT ALL LEVELS IN
WEST INDIES CRICKET . However WE MUST
first start with the WICBC/CWI .

Growley says

"We got a legal view. The secretariat indicated that one of our Trinidad lawyers gave a legal opinion that there is an arguable case that West Indies Cricket is a public good and therefore there is a role for the region's leadership to get involved because the game is destroyed and that could be argued in any court of law", said Prime Minister Rowley.

Notably this was the same legal reasoning initially used by the Lodha commission before they forced changes on the BCCI. "You discharge a public function but you want to enjoy private status," Supreme Court Senior Advocate Gopal Subramanium said in 2016.

"If you have a public persona then you have to shed the private persona. This cannot be done. It [the BCCI] selects the national team for the country, it cannot be a private society. It is a public entity."

So we have legal precedences.Hmmmmmm

sgtdjones 2017-07-18 08:57:15

Firstly, Darren Sammy should be reinstated to his rightful position as T20 captain. Chairman of selectors Courtney Browne can also apologize for the dubious "lack of form" excuse reasons from dropping Sammy and disgracefully never allowing him to play for Windies again after World T20 win.

It's always been clear that Sammy was dropped for his post-game speech rather than performances because he performed excellently in the CPL, Bangladesh and Pakistan Leagues.

Another apology in the works?

Well I have been in this Forum writing about the India Supreme Court verbally slapping around the Officials of the
BCCI .

Look for quite sometime I have stated
in this Forum that the WICBC /CWI have been and are Ungrateful Bums because
it was the Regional Governments who took TAXPAYERS MONEY , to assist them in hosting the 2007 Cricket World Cup .
I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANY OF THE BUMS

PUBLICLY THANKING THE GOVERNMENTS FOR

USING TAXPAYERS MONEY TO ASSIST THEM

IN HOSTING THE 2007 WORLD CUP THAT

WAS HELD IN THE REGION .

That being the case , as I have stated , the Regional Governments
Individually or Collectively have Standing to take the Worst International Cricket Board in the
Commonwealth , aka the WICBC , or
CWI , aka Cricket Worst Idiots to Court . They have shown themselves to be very Ungrateful People .

When the big EDiot told Caricom that CWI was a private entity The PM's should have thrown his arse out of the room. Then done the same to the PM of Antigua.

Caricom must realize by now that we threw away the Federation 50 plus years ago as other countries today welcome such and are eager to sign trade agreements.

CWI cannot be a private entity, as soon as one accepts funds from governments and select a team that represents the region, plus tax free status, private entity fails to exists. Transparency occurs and due diligence required.

Anurag Thakur sent a letter to the ICC asking for help against the Supreme Court directives

In a previous hearing on December 15, the court had said there was enough evidence to lay a charge of perjury against Thakur.

According to the court, Thakur had tried to "solicit" such a letter from Manohar during the ICC Governance Review Committee meeting held in Dubai on August 6 and 7, 2016. Thakur, the court said, was attempting to "thwart" the implementation of the recommendations. "An attempt was made to build up a record to indicate that implementing the orders of the Supreme Court of India would run the risk of endangering the status of BCCI as a member of ICC."

The Court removed Thakur as President.

A similar brief can be filed against the Big EDiot.
Its up to Caricom.

It's not about begging dude,
listen this is a forum, persons come here and express their feelings about different topics, in writing.
You'd have to be crazy if you come on here write what you write and don't expect persons to read it.
the only reason to write something is to get others to read it
No one says agree but at least some sort of emotion when they read what you write. Not one of like being a nag.
You and i know you can and is capable of change. remember like 2 years ago when everything you wrote was in all CAPS, LIKE 15 to 20 lines of CAPS.
But you adjusted your style
Now I ain't telling you what to do but how about not hijacking every thread by regurgitating the exact same thing you did on a previous thread especially when it doesn't apply to the topic at hand. it's almost as if you're spamming.

Most telling statement in the entire article....

CWI has to understand that certain players have options, and, in the words of the famous comedian Chris Rock, "A person is only as faithful as their options!"

A handful of players earn at least 3 times the top CWI annual contract playing t20 cricket. Quite frankly, they may not want to play anything else.

Get the Emperor & his Minions to do serious Restructuring in the WICBC/CWI
and the Regional Boards , and then I will stop repeating what I state about
the Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC /Cricket Worst Idiots , aka CWI .

When the WICBC/CWI stops Commissioning
Reports , and then wilfully ignores
the salient features of those Reports
I will sttop writing about them /

BTW , that includes an adherence to Good Governance ; Total Transparency ; and Total Accountability. Once the
above Requirements are met I will stop repeating what I state in this
Forum .

Obviously if the Emperor & his Minions refuse to do serious restructuring , then I will continue
being very critical of them .

This is aa fantastic article, I commend the writer- every point he made is spot on, none more so than the disbanding of the WICBC.

Months ago , in this Forum I stated that the Supreme Court of India , due to the intransigence of the BCCI removed both the President & the Secretary of the BCCI from their positions in the BCCI .

I also stated recently that the Judges
were upset with the Ex President who claimed that he got a letter from the
President of the ICC , which turned out to be untrue .

The Judges were furious with the behaviour of the Ex President trying
very hard not to implement the Recommendations of the Lodha Committee .

It seems that the Dam has broken , and the International Cricket Crooks
can no longer tell its International Member Boards , that Government cannot & must not intervene in Cricket .

My belief is that the decision of the India Supreme Court , has diluted some of the power the Members of the ICC thought they had ; regarding Governments intervening in Cricket .

i am just trying to say disbanding and replacing CWI, without a shift in how things are managed will not work, we have had many presidents over the decades and things just keeps getting worse, I think we just need good people

BESIDES BCA is not a forward thinking entity

POINT 2017-07-18 20:52:40

Years ago , while checking on the formation of Cricket Boards , I found out that on 4 separate occasions , the
President of Pakistan fired the PCB ;
Appointed a Chairman & an Ad Hoc Committee to govern Cricket in Pakistan until there were fresh Elections for Officials to the PCB .

It was at this time that I realized
that when the ICC stated that Government cannot intervene in Cricket
it is a Hollow Hoax .

When the Government of Guyana took the GCB to Court , there was no sighting of the ICC nor the WICBC .
This is what really made me realize that the ICC was lying when it stated
that Governments cannot Intervene in
Cricket .

However , Governments cannot be in control Forever , they however can intervene temporarily . My belief is
that Governments in the wake of the Decision of the India Supreme Court
will now flex their muscles , regarding Cricket Boards .

what west indies cricket needs is SOLUTIONS, the flaws are already common knowledge

POINT 2017-07-20 09:51:08

I have offered Solutions , currently
I have stated one that I have offered
before so that both those who Govern &
Those who Represent the Region in the
International Cricket Arena .

Both need to start understanding that Cricket in the Region needs to have Harmonious Relations if WE want to get to the Top again .

I have in this Forum stated what I believe in necessary to not only forge this Goal ; but restore the competitiveness of Our Players in the
International Cricket Arena .

jelfew 2017-07-21 14:59:30

It is amazing how we tend to debate non points. The addition of the word "temporary" is verbose since amnesty is by its nature a temporary arrangement applied to a particular matter. The intention for the amnesty is clearly stated and there is nothing sinister about that. The parties involved, in the mean time will work towards a solution to the problem the present rules are causing. I think all well thinking people wants this.
